This season was kind of strange. I think the cooking talent was all right. Sam, Ilan, Cliff and Elia were the most talented of the bunch- in that order. As far as personality goes, there was no one as likeable as Harold, Dave, Leanne and Miguel from last season. Stephen was the snooty one but he redeemed himself in the reunion show, apologizing for his attitude and behavior. I left out Marcel because I'm not sure exactly where he should fit. He has talent, for sure, but he uses artificial ingredients! As for his personality....Ai-yah!

I really didn't like him and thought the head-shaving attempt was juvenile but not "violent". In the end, I got tired of the Marcel-bashing and wanted them to just cook. I thought it was interesting how Elia had been sticking up for him all season and then turned on him. To me, that goes to show how abrasive he is. He said all along that he wasn't there to make friends, but to win a competition. Elia was friend from when they worked together before. And he lost a friend during the competition. That should tell him something.

Deanna wondered why Marcel spoke up about the missing fish when the sea beans hadn't hurt the dish. Where the chefs can speak privately to the camera, Marcel insinuated that Sam and Mike deliberately sabotaged him and he wanted the judges to know that and be impressed at how he overcame the setback. Of course, he tried to take credit for Sam's idea. Tiffany did the same thing in the first season finale. She took full credit for Dave's dessert recipe. Unfortunately for her, the judges already knew the truth. Dave had developed a dessert recipe for the finale. When he was eliminated in the final Quickfire, he made it for Tiffany for her finale meal.

All in all, I didn't enjoy this season as much as the first.
