Wes Finally Out of the Picture – Bachelorette
The Bachelorette, Week 8 (Season 5)
On the July 6, 2009 episode of The Bachelorette, Week 8 (Season 5), Jillian and the remaining bachelors traveled to Spain.
Flamenco with Kiptyn
Walking through town Kiptyn told Jillian he had told his sister the experience has been amazing but a proposal seems far off. Jillian said she hoped for an engagement in the end, but she understands if it doesn’t happen.
Kiptyn and Jillian learned to Flamenco dance and put on a performance in traditional Flamenco clothing. Jillian loved how much fun Kiptyn had.
During dinner Kiptyn and Jillian talked about how they both wanted children. Jillian asked what his ex-girlfriends would have changed about him. Kiptyn said he could probably be tougher. Jillian said that quality reminds her of her father, and she told him it is important to her that Kiptyn be able to call her out sometimes. Kiptyn said if he feels strongly about something he will let her know.
Jillian thinks she is falling in love with Kiptyn, but she decided to reject the fantasy suite because she still has concerns about their relationship.
Picnic with Reid
Jillian and Reid had a picnic in Sevilla. They bonded over their lack of Spanish speaking while shopping for their lunch. During lunch Reid started to open up about his growing feelings for Jillian.
Reid has a problem saying things first so Jillian pressed him during dinner to explain how he really feels. Reid rolled off several things he likes about Jillian but he wasn’t direct. Jillian was happy with the progress, but she wasn’t ready to spend the night together so she rejected the fantasy suite. She felt it would be good for their relationship.
Carriage Ride with Ed
On a carriage ride Ed said he regretted leaving. He said he couldn’t get Jillian off his mind, and he had new priorities. Jillian asked about Ed’s family, and Ed said she would have fit in great. The couple made out all over the city, including soaking wet in a fountain.
During dinner Jillian said she is open to moving to Chicago. Ed was happy to hear that because he thinks she would love it and he can see them being happy together for a long time. Ed also told her all about his family and the things they would’ve done on his hometown date.
In the fantasy suite the couple cuddled. Jillian felt spending the night was important to catch up.
Biking with Wes
Jillian and Wes rode bikes through the city, finally landing for lunch in a gazebo. Wes called Jillian perfect and what he is looking for, but Jillian noticed how far Wes sat from her. She didn’t feel romance during lunch and things were awkward. Wes wasn’t open to moving for Jillian.
During dinner Jillian tried to bring up her concerns again, but Wes defended himself. He said he didn’t have a girlfriend, and if he was just hear for the publicity he would go home now because he has already showed off his music. Jillian begged Wes to say it isn’t about the music, but he couldn’t do it. Jillian asked about Laurel, and Wes called her his girlfriend.
Jillian was shocked when Wes wanted to spend the night together. She rejected the fantasy suite and finally saw Wes’ true motives.
Rose Ceremony
Jillian said she had never been so sure about sending someone home. The decision came down to Wes and Kiptyn. Wes was positive it wasn’t him even until the last moment, but he was eliminated. He admitted he had a girlfriend in the limo.
