In the previous episode of VH1's newest reality television series Tough Love, the cast took a trip to the gym, where the reality show's cast members work with attractive male personal trainers.
What the relationship-challenged cast of Tough Love don't realize is that the men are reporting back to Matchmaker Steven Ward on their first impressions of and interactions with the women. The women get a crash course in male perceptions of women before they embark on some "training dates."
In episode two, behavior patterns become clear among certain Tough Love cast members. Stasha is perpetually leaving a bad impression with men due to her cold, harsh persona and her constant bragging about her centerfold model status with a prominent mens' magazine.
And then there's Jody, who almost exclusively discusses her career with the trainer at the gym and with her date.
The second Tough Love episode concludes much to the dismay of Jody and many of the other cast members, Taylor returns to the house after a trip to the hospital...and she's louder, ditzier and pushier than ever.
VH1's Tough Love Episode Three - The Photoshoot
The third episode of Tough Love begins with a photoshoot. The women are told to pick out their favorite outfits for the photoshoot, designed to give Tough Love Matchmaker Steve Ward an idea of what each woman perceives as "sexy."
Following the photoshoot, a panel of men provide the women with their honest impressions of each Tough Love cast member.
Arian's photoshoot comes off as rather trashy and unappealing. In contrast, Jody's photos leave the men with an impression of aloofness; they describe their impression of Jody as unapproachable. When asked if they would date her, one male panelist's answer was an emphatic "No! Would anyone?"
Stasha's photoshoot was the epitome of a trainwreck. What was intended to be "artsy" - a dancing leotard, pink tutu and dark raccoon-like eye makeup - came off as creepy. Equally disastrous was Abiola's photoshoot, which included a mini-tiara and cupcakes.
On the other end of the spectrum was Taylor, who, despite her tacky, shallow persona, came off as fun and approachable in her photos. But undeniably, the best photos were Jaclyn's, who posed for her photos wearing a partially-unbuttoned men's collared shirt.
Episode Three of Tough Love on VH1 - The Lingerie Party
With the photoshoot feedback from the male panelists and Matchmaker Steve Ward still fresh in their minds, the Tough Love women get a chance to pick out lingerie for a pajama party.
One of Tough Love's most conservative cast members Jody is clearly uncomfortable with the idea of a pajama party, but once the event is underway, Jody gets an opportunity to bond with the same man she dated on the previous episode. And this time, Jody leaves a great impression.
Tough Love's Abiola gets to see her suitor Terrance for their third date since her arrival on the show; but she's left with mixed feelings after the pajama party.
Jessa is also left with some mixed emotions for her date, as he refused to kiss her. At the end of the evening, Jessa is left wondering if her date is a bit too conservative.
But far and away, the loser of the evening was Taylor. Matchmaker Steve Ward intentionally set-up Taylor with a man who was a great match for her, except for the fact that he's not wealthy. Taylor, nicknamed "Miss Gold Digger," quickly determines that her date doesn't have money and as the alcohol starts to flow, Taylor begins making it abundantly clear that she's not interested due to her date's financial status.
In fact, when discussing the party with Steve Ward, Taylor is put in the "hot seat" due to her poor behavior. While it was clear that she was rejecting her date because he wasn't wealthy, Taylor doesn't immediately admit this. Taylor nearly walks off the show, but her curiosity about Steve's feedback on her date draws her back and she finally breaks down and explains why she's so obsessed with wealthy men.
VH1's newest reality show Tough Love airs every Sunday at 9:00 p.m.
