Ty Murray Eliminated on DWTS
Dancing with the Stars, 810A
On the May 12, 2009 episode of Dancing with the Stars, 810A, Raphael Saadiq performed. The show revealed its Design-A-Dance contest, and the two professional dance competition finalists showed off their choreography skills with one of the current professional dancers.
The Elimination
The two teams up for elimination were Ty Murray and Chelsie and Melissa Rycroft and Tony. Gilles Marini and Cheryl were the first team announced as safe, and Shawn Johnson and Mark were the second team announced safe.
After the nationwide vote, Ty and Chelsie were eliminated. After learning the news Ty said he has a whole new respect for dancers. Tom Bergeron, the host, jumped in to say that Ty has been the whole package on the show, and Chelsie said she was very proud of her partner and couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Professional Dancer Competition
This week the final two competitors in the professional dancer competition were paired with a current professional dancer on the show, and they were asked to choreograph a ballroom and a Latin dance.
Mayo Alanen was paired with Kym Johnson. Kym said she was a little worried about a few of Mayo’s moves, but she was really impressed with his overall choreography.
Their first performance was the Tango. It was strong, and they danced like lovers battling it out. Len liked the performance. Bruno thought Mayo did a great job using his partner. Carrie Ann said she needs to see more personality from Mayo.
Mayo and Kym’s second performance was the Cha Cha Cha. This was a much better showing of Mayo’s personality, and the choreography was fantastic. Carrie Ann was worried Mayo isn’t versatile enough for the show. Len thought the Tango was better. Bruno thought Mayo should have done a proper Cha Cha Cha.
Anna Demidova was paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Maks is very difficult to work with, and it gave Anna the chance to prove she can be tough with her celebrity.
Their first performance was the Quickstep. It was amazing and so much fun to watch. Bruno said it was splendid to watch. Carrie Ann thought she proved she be in this competition. Len said Anna brought out the best in Maks.
Anna and Maks’ second performance was the Samba. The performance was very fast paced, and Anna’s choreography was again brilliant. Len said there is no question Anna will be back next season. Bruno said the performance was stunning. Carrie Ann said she wants to see more of Anna.
