On the June 1, 2009 episode of The Bachelorette, Week 3 (Season 5), Jillian took 11 of the men to a movie set to shoot some romantic scenes.
Ed Lives Dangerously
Ed was chosen for the individual date. He and Jillian began with a helicopter ride, which landed on top of the building the pair was going to zip line down. Ed was terrified, but Jillian was pumped. The two managed to make it to the pool at the bottom, and Jillian felt it brought them closer together.
The couple shared a passionate kiss and some great conversation on their date. At dinner Jillian learned more about Ed, like his love for Elton John karaoke. She also learned Ed has a hard time balancing work and personal life, which worried her.
After dinner Jillian offered her rose, and Ed accepted.
Wild Men in the Wild West
Reid, Wes, Mike, Michael, Tanner F., Mark, Brad, Robby, Tanner P., Kiptyn and Juan were invited on to the set of a western movie with Jillian. Everyone costumed up and participated because Jillian wanted to see who was a good sport.
Robby was pretty nervous to kiss Jillian, but you could tell he was kissing Jillian as Robby, not as his character.
Wes stole Jillian away, and she tried to remind him he had the first kiss, so he shouldn’t worry too much. Jillian finds Wes’ jealousy sweet.
Reid and Jillian had some private time during dinner. He was very nervous, and Juan showed up just as Reid was going to kiss her.
Juan thanked Jillian for defending him the other night, and he said he felt he was picked because he wasn’t liked, not because he wasn’t good for her.
Jillian told Robby he had the best kiss and scene of the day, and she said she felt really comfortable with him. He ended up receiving the rose.
Sasha in the Fast Lane
Jillian and Sasha went to an automotive museum. They took photographs on and in several of the cars. Jillian said she loves Sasha’s outgoing personality.
At dinner Jillian felt she had learned a lot about him. Jillian asked Sasha if he was ready for the next step, and he said he would get married the next day if he felt it was right. The two connected over finding the unicorn that is true love.
Jillian was worried when Sasha said he had never been heartbroken, and she felt she couldn’t live up to the fantasy he was looking for. She decided not to give him the rose.
Before the Rose
The next night at the cocktail party David was feeling particularly nervous because he hadn’t spent any time with Jillian. He told her how he was feeling and how he was used to having a lot of attention. He began to say there were bad guys in the house when Juan interrupted. David said to the camera he thinks Juan is no good and a liar.
Reid asked Jillian why he didn’t get the rose the night before. She said she is interested in him, but she needed more time to talk to him. The couple then had their first kiss.
Later, David freaked out about Juan. He told everyone except Jillian. Even Juan overheard the rant. He confronted David, and David called him fake. A few of the other men told Juan they felt the same as David.
The men began to tell Jillian what was happening, but Chris interrupted them.
Rose Ceremony
Tanner F. and Brad were eliminated at the ceremony.
