This week's Project Runway blue challenge sponsored by Macy's featured an overworked bridesmaid dress and a bad shirt dress. Who was kicked off? Who was eliminated?

Last week's movie genre challenge tested how well the designers could create a modern look from a particular movie style. Sci-Fi made Nicolas the challenge winner while Ra'mon was eliminated due to what Heidi called a, "hot green mess."

The designers thought of the competition like the Olympic games where everyone is good but someone has to lose. Due to the reduction in male designers again this week, Logan had to move in with Nicolas, Epperson, and Christopher. Christopher warned that he takes long showers while Nicolas let Logan know that he's a cuddler.

Heidi met the designers at the runway and told them that the next challenge would be quite colorful. An intriguing challenge with many possibilities, the designers headed off to meet Tim in the work room.

The following Project Runway recap contains spoilers and will note the winner, as well as who was eliminated in this episode.

Project Runway Top 10 Episode 7 Recap: The Challenge

The designers met up with Tim in the work room where he was joined by Macy's Martine Reardon who would explain the challenge. She instructed the designers to use the color blue for their inspiration this week, from it's subtle romatic color to its bold electric hues.

Macy's partnered with the INC clothing brand who would market and sell a holiday dress designed by the winning designer. The designers would create two blue looks consistent with the INC brand. The one-day challenge would require designers to work in teams of two. Each designer sketched and presented their ideas to Martine who then selected the team leaders Irina, Althea, Louise, Christopher, and Carol Hannah.

The leaders then were drawn from a bag and able to select a partner. Althea picked Logan, Christopher selected Epperson, Louise took Nicolas, Irina chose Gordana, and Carol Hannah chose the remaining Shirin.

Nicolas talked with other designers about the ruffles that Louise intended to use, as he is woefully against ruffles. Epperson expressed his excitement at working with Christopher as opposed to his former pain-filled team partnership with Qristyl.

Tim checked in to give feedback and enjoyed the direction of Logan and Althea. Tim worried about Irina and Gordana's design. It became apparent that the two designers weren't communicating well.

Michael Kors returned this week while Zanna Roberts of Marie Claire filled in for Nina Garcia. Martine Reardon from Macy's also joined the judging panel.

Heidi called Althea and Logan forward to tell them their scores were high enough to move forward in the competition. The remaining four teams represented the highest and lowest scoring designs. Christopher & Epperson and Louise & Nicolas had the lowest scores.

The judges enjoyed the beautiful neckline and appeal for Carol Hannah and Shirin's work. The sophisticated designs could be worn in many situations.

Next, Gordana and Irina explained their designs and the tension became immediately apparent. Gordana said she found it a difficult working relationship and then Irina called Gordana a shy designer who could have done more.

Heidi moved on to the lowest scoring designs. The judges felt Louise's designs used too many ruffles and looked like a bad bridal shop. A look that no modern girl would wear.

Christopher explained his designs and Heidi thought the looks weren't modern. Michael Kors thought the shirt dress looked like a tablecloth while the teal dress looked like a disco pumpkin. Christopher broke down in tears and he entered the challenge thinking he would be the winner.

Project Runway Winner Announced & One Designer Eliminated: Auf Wiedersehen

The eight designers returned to the stage and Heidi informed Irina she was the winner this week while Shirin, Gordana, Carol Hannah, Epperson, and Nicolas were safe. The remaining two designers Louise and Christopher were on the chopping block.

Heidi told Louise her dresses were far away from anything a modern girl would wear and that they looked like bad, overworked bridesmaid dresses. To Christopher, she said his two outfits did not go well together and were badly made.

Heidi then announced Louise eliminated and that Christopher was safe. Louise felt honored to have been a part of the show and would come away from it a better designer.
