Meet the Belles
The stars of this show, Shea, Emily, Kellie, Julie and Hadley, are five single women living in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s obvious this show is going to be filled with drama when the first episode entailed Shea’s boyfriend dancing with another woman, Handley’s boyfriend of a month and half already throwing around the “L” word, and Kellie drinking multiple cosmopolitans at a charity event she was hosting with the other Southern Belles.
Shea
This conservative woman is waiting for her boyfriend, Jeff, of less than a year to propose but she’s expecting the ring of her dreams which is about a five karat diamond. Sweat dripped off Jeff’s forehead when Shea took him ring shopping in Chicago. How did they get there? On a private jet, of course. Throughout the show, if Shea had a chance to make it known that she wants a diamond pronto, she announced it loud and clear.
Shea said that she was embarrassed by how little they raised, about 3500 dollars, at their charity event. She wanted it to be a success because her name was associated with it. Shea initiated the idea to sell cosmopolitans at the charity event for 15 to 20 dollars each and place a real diamond in one martini and fake diamonds in all the others. Whoever got the martini with the real diamond would get to keep it. Obviously, it wasn’t a successful way to raise money.
Emily
Emily turned her back on her father’s multimillion dollar business to pursue a career as a local reporter. Her dad dreams of Emily joining the team at his company, but she wants to chase her own dreams. Emily seems too concerned with her hair color and extensions, because she brought up the topic multiple times. During the charity event, she refused to wear a diamond necklace supplied by Shea, because she wanted to wear her big, gold hoops. Shea said she was hurt.
Kellie
As Kellie’s divorce becomes public knowledge, she’s trying to get used to living a much simpler lifestyle. She converted one of the bedrooms in her new house into a closet big enough to hold her clothes and accessories. She’s been divorced twice and doesn’t seem proud of it. During the charity event hosted by the Southern Belles, she tossed back many cosmopolitans while the other women looked on with concern.
Julie
Julie continues to pursue her modeling career event though she’s approaching 35, and the modeling agency said that she should play the role of a soccer mom in the next stage of her career. She’s beautiful but apparently too old to be a fashion model.
Hadley
Hadley looks like America’s sweetheart with her blond hair and Carrie Bradshaw fashion. She’s the type of girl that other girls were incredibly jealous of in high school. Everything on the outside looks perfect but on the inside it might be a mess. She’s a personal assistant and Ph.D. candidate.
During this episode, her adorable boyfriend rented out an entire ice skating rink for their date, and her best friend, Russ, told her that he has feelings for her. When she explained that she is dating somebody now, Russ replied, “We’ll be together one day.” Hadley seemed bummed when her boyfriend didn’t show up to the charity event but Russ took his place by her side. Who will she end up with?
