The Ruins: Episode 2Evelyn Flips Her Lid, Shauvon Pops Her Boob
Previously on The Ruins: Wes didn't get along with his team and Tonya drank herself into a stupor, but they both won the elimination rounds, sending home Chet and Diem.
Picking up where the previous episode left off, the Champions discuss Wes and his threats to throw all the missions to spite them. Ev is all for the group extending the olive branch since Wes, who is built like a GI Joe, has potential to be a great asset to the team. Outside, Ev talks to her BFF KellyAnne about how they’re in similar situations being on the outskirts, despite being the strongest women on their respective teams. KellyAnne isn’t too popular with the Champion girls, either, particularly Johanna. You know, her boyfriend’s ex-fiancée. Awkward. In an interview, Evan tells us that a heightened ability to lie and screw people over is what separates a Challenger from a Champion. On a balcony somewhere in that huge house, he devises a plan with a few of his teammates to get Ev and KellyAnne into the Ruins together. The idea is to knock out the other team’s top female competitor, while simultaneously sticking it to Wes. Katie says Ev should go into The Ruins every time, but more out of respect for her athletic ability than any “Well, I just hate her ass” reasons. More importantly, Ev going in means that Katie doesn’t have to. Team Challengers is apparently down with this plan. For her part, Sarah, the most neutral party you’re going to find since her Real World season ended five minutes ago and she doesn’t really know any of these people, feels funny about KellyAnne’s connection to the other team. Kim just doesn’t like her, though. “The bottom line is that the girls on my team aren’t as fond of KellyAnne as some of the other girls, so we don’t care if she goes home or not,” she tells us. Pendulating, Plotting and PoppingWes tries to strike up a deal with his teammates. He volunteers to go into the next Ruins, provided they start rotating after that. The Champions pretend to agree, so that Wes won’t sabotage the mission — Swing On By, which involves swinging on a vine like Tarzan from one platform to another around a giant fence; it’s a timed event and whichever team gets all members to Platform B the fastest wins. Danny starts it off for the Challengers saying, “I’m cruising and then I realize, I’m going 40 miles-per-hour into a wall and it’s coming fast.” Despite the ensuing wall-crashing, Danny successfully lands on the second platform, followed by pretty much everybody. Casey falls off the rope, but given both her involvement in the plan against KellyAnne and her history of being terrible at most things, nobody can be sure if she did it on purpose. Shauvon, admittedly the least athletic person around, also gets off on the wrong foot. She doesn’t appear to have a very strong grip on the rope and slips off, bellyflopping into the water below. Her boobs, which are about the size of Mercury and Venus, break her fall. Ouch. That is a really significant drop for a bellyflop. Shauvon gets climbs back up to the first platform to try again and she’s like, dude, I may have just popped one of my implants and Danny’s all, too bad! She ultimately gets taken away in an ambulance, eventually leaving the show on her doctor's orders. The Champions have no problems and win again. The Worst Human Beings EverIn the deliberation, Wes sticks to his end of the deal and it’s quickly agreed upon that he’ll face off with Nick in The Ruins. Ev is fine with going in to the female round, but she wants to go against Casey. Johnny is adamant that she faces KellyAnne, since Casey’s screw-ups help their team. Realizing they’ve been suckered, Wes and Ev lose their minds. There is screaming, there is shoving, there are threats of ass-whoopings. Since Wes and Ev are only two votes, KellyAnne it is. After the meeting, Ev and Wes go on a rampage. Ev is destroying stuff, while Wes is running around screaming, “YOU ARE THE WORST HUMAN BEINGS EVER!” He gets right back up in Johnny’s face — Susie is scared at the possibility of a brawl, but Kenny, who makes faces and muscleman poses for the camera, finds the whole thing hilarious. Wes and Nick are first up in Shadow Fighter, which is kind of like how you’d play tug-of-war if you happened to be in a chain gang. They’re standing on opposite platforms with their wrists and ankles attached, and the object is to pull the other person off. Wes has it in the bag, jerking Nick around like his own little break-dancing marionette. Wes tells us, “I beat him with assertion because I wanted to prove a point.” Ev and KellyAnne appear to be more evenly matched, but Ev basically just stands there as KellyAnne pulls her strings like she’s trying to drag a refrigerator uphill. Ev could easily win, but decides to jump off the platform and let KellyAnne have it, counter-screwing the team she feels screwed her. Back in the house, Wes and Johanna have a talk. He’s still all about sabotaging missions and possibly, the final challenge. Johanna informs him that if he does, she’s going to sell their house, the deed of which is in her name, and follows that threat with the eyebrow raise of "Come on, I dare you." That’s super lowlife if she actually goes through with it, but it was pretty successful in shutting Wes up.
