The Bachelorette Season Premiere
Season Five, Episode One
She fell in love in front of millions of viewers with Jason Resnick the season before, but he didn’t feel the same way about her. He wanted to be “just friends.” Jason may not have fallen in love with Jillian but she won America’s heart with her outgoing personality and unfailing sense of humor.
The host of The Bachelorette, Chris Harrison, introduced America and Jillian to the twenty-five bachelors who would be vying for Jillian’s heart on this season. They ranged from a break-dance instructor to a law school graduate to a country singer. There were so many different personalities present which ignited competition among the men. Jillian was pulled from one man to the next during the first cocktail party.
The First Impression Rose
Viewers who aren’t new to the Bachelor/Bachelorette know that Jillian would be instructed to give a rose to the man who gave off the best first impression. This was the bachelorette’s chance to give a rose to one of the men who stood out to her. When David, first introduced himself to her, he froze up and became extremely nervous. Later that night, they sat down together and had a meaningful conversation where David explained, “You caught me off guard.” Jillian gave Dave the first impression rose telling him that this was his “second chance” first impression rose.
First Time in Bachelor History
Chris Harrison interrupted the cocktail party to let the men and Jillian know that for the first time in Bachelor history five more men were going to be added to the mix. All of a sudden the twenty-five bachelors seemed to band together against the additional five men. These five men had a disadvantage, because they had much less time with Jillian.
The Rose Ceremony
At the end of every episode there is a rose ceremony where Jillian has to give roses to the men she wants to stay. During this rose ceremony, Jillian had nineteen more roses to give out, and she gave roses to:

- Wes, 32, Musician
- Mathue, 26, Personal Trainer
- Michael, 25, Break Dance Instructor
- Robby, 25, Bartender

- Kiptyn, 31 Business Developer
- Mike, 28, Baseball Camp Owner
- Brian, 32, IT Consultant
- Sasha, 27, Oil and Gas Consultant
- Julien, 34, Restaurateur
- Tanner P., 30, Financial Analyst
- Mark, 26, Pizza Entrepreneur
- Brad, 27, Financial Advisor
- Tanner F., 28, Sales Representative
- Juan, 35, General Contractor
The other ten men were sent home. Stay tuned, because this season is sure to be filled with drama. The preview of the season showed that one of the bachelors had a girlfriend back home and one of the men joined the show to become next season’s bachelor. Is it true?
