The Bachelorette Brings the Men to Vancouver

Jillian Sends David and Juan Home

Jun 11, 2009 April Bowles

This episode of The Bachelorette took a dramatic turn when Tanner informed Jillian that at least one of the bachelors had a girlfriend back home.

On the fourth episode of The Bachelorette, Jillian introduced the guys to Vancouver and had a one-on-one date with Kiptyn, a large group date, and a difficult two-on-one date where she had to send one of the bachelors home.

Individual Date with Kiptyn

Jillian surprised Kiptyn with a kayak race, and the date ended with them cooking and eating dinner together. Jillian said that she wanted to have a normal date with Kiptyn. The kind of date she would have any other time. Kiptyn told Jillian that he had never really chased a girl and he’s settled for whatever has come his way. They spent time snuggling and kissing and it was obvious that Jillian was going to give a rose to Kiptyn, so it was no surprise when she did.

Group Date

Jillian had the men split up into two teams of five to compete in the winter sport of curling. The winning team would spend the rest of the date with Jillian and the losing team would go back to hotel. Michael wrapped his arms around Jillian to warm her up while they watched the others. The winning team spent time on a yacht with Jillian.

While they were on the yacht, Jillian spent individual time with each guy. Going into her time with David, Jillian said that she hoped to see the gentleman side of him; however, he said some disrespectful things to Jillian and she turned down his kiss. He was offended and confused as to why she wouldn’t kiss him. Jillian seemed to enjoy her time with Jesse and ended up giving him the rose.

Two-on-One Date with Mike and Mark

When Mike found out that he was going on the two-on-one date where one bachelor would be sent home, he was confident that he would be staying. The date began with a helicopter ride with Mike snuggled up against Jillian while Mark looked out the other window. Mike definitely took the lead throughout the date by sitting next to Jillian in the helicopter and making a toast at the beginning of dinner. Jillian spent alone time with each of the men before making her decision, and Mark won her over. She gave the rose to Mark and sent Mike home.

Cocktail Party and Rose Ceremony

During the rose ceremony, many of the guys warned Jillian that some of the bachelors were not there for the right reasons. Tanner took it a step further when he told her that a couple of the bachelors may have girlfriends back home. Jillian broke down and wanted to know the truth. She wouldn’t continue with the cocktail party and asked the guy with the girlfriend to please tell her now. No one came forward but many of the bachelors looked at Wes while he played it cool. David demanded to know who told Jillian that someone had a girlfriend, but she didn’t reveal her source. Ultimately, Jillian sent David and Juan home.
