Ten remaining teams travel through Munich, Germany and participate in paragliding, segway riding and pie throwing on the way to the pit stop in Salzburg, Austria.

In last week's episode of The Amazing Race, eleven teams departed from Los Angeles, California to Switzerland where contestants battled flying cheese wheels and confusing train schedules within the Swiss Alps. Mother/son team Margie & Luke started strong with a first place finish, while dating couple Preston & Jennifer had difficulty communicating and were the first team to be eliminated. Ten teams remain after a mandatory rest period in the Swiss hamlet of Stechelberg.

Amazing Race Contestants Fly from Stechelberg, Switzerland to Bavaria, Germany

Departing from the pit stop in Stechelberg, teams were instructed fly to Munich, Germany. Margie & Luke, first to arrive in the last leg, depart at 2:56am followed closely by Tammy & Victor and Mark & Michael. All teams with the exception of Margie & Luke and Mark & Michael ask to borrow their cab drivers cell phone and called ahead to book tickets for a 7:10am Swissair flight to Munich. Christie & Jodi, last to depart at 4:12am, find that all but one coach seat has been reserved and hold tickets on an 8:45am Lufthansa flight. They are joined on board by Mark & Michael who, shortly after using their third place departure as an opportunity to relax, are frustrated to find that all seats on the first flight have been reserved by the time they arrive at the ticket counter.

Second Roadblock Requires Teams to Paraglide Near Ruhpolding, Germany

Once in Bavaria, teams must drive themselves on the famous German Autobahn to the mountain village of Ruhpolding and ride the Rauschberg cable car to a peak in the Chiemgau Alps. Tammy & Victor make a swift departure from the Munich airport and catch the first tram to the top. Amanda & Kris arrive minutes later, but while waiting 15 minutes for the second cable car are joined by Margie & Luke, Michael & Mel and cheerleaders Cara & Jaime. Sisters Kisha & Jen somehow exist off the Autobahn and get hopelessly lost, igniting what appears to be the start of a pattern of sibling bickering.

At the top, teams head to the cluebox where they encounter their second roadblock asking "Who's ready to "fly like an eagle?" One team member must run off the mountainside and paraglide 6000ft to the valley below while their partner takes the gondola back down to Ruhpolding. In the event of strong winds, contestants have the option of foregoing the paraglide and taking a sixty-minute hike along a marked path down the mountain instead.

Tammy immediately opts for the hike as her tandem instructor informs her the winds are too dangerous. As the line for paragliding reaches five contestants, Victoria makes the snap decision to run and is joined with Margie and Kris, than Linda and Cara, leaving Mel agonizing over his decision as a groin injury he incurred last episode prevents him from jogging.

The remaining teams join Mel atop Rauschberg where he goads them to stay, however after Mark, arriving in tenth place, also opts to jog, he becomes convinced he has lost the race for both himself and son Mike. While Mel prays for the winds to die down, the first four teams depart for their next location. As the winds subside, Mel is finally able to paraglide and he and Mike depart Ruhpolding in fifth place. While Cara, Mark, Jen and Jodi slowly navigate their way down the hour-long trail, Linda takes a wrong turn and veers far off course, leaving husband Steve waiting at the landing spot until she somehow manages to get a ride from a local passerby back to the cable cars.

Teams Drive from Ruhpolding to Schönau am Königssee

After driving to their next location, teams encounter their first detour and must choose between a two mile obstacle course on Segway transporters or throwing traditional Austrian pies at each others face until they find one with cherry filling. After completing the task, teams must search for the "Holzsager", or woodcutter, which will cut a small disk of wood stamped upon which will be their next clue.

Tammy & Victor quickly find a cherry filled pie and make their way on foot to the woodcutter which directs them to the second pit stop in Salzburg, Austria. Mike & Mel, arriving behind Amanda & Kris, choose to ride the segways which pulls them ahead to second place. After multiple cream filled pastries are flung across the tent, Luke & Margie and Brad & Victoria finally see red, much to the amusement of the beer stein drinking onlookers.

As the sun sets, flight attendants Jodi & Christie take their clue literally and begin to carry a log of wood around the town of Schonau am Konigssee in a fruitless attempt at locating a woodcutter. After a local woman directs them to the Holzsager, they admit to having a "dumb blond" moment and try to put distance between themselves and Steve & Linda, in last place.

Schloss Hellbrunn in Salzburg, Austria isSecond Pit Stop of The Amazing Race

From Schonau am Konigssee, teams must drive themselves across the border to Austria and locate Schloss Hellbrunn, a 17th century baroque villa. Tammy & Victor arrive in a leisurely first place. Mike & Mel recover from their previous setback atop the mountain in Ruhpolding and arrive in second, followed by Kris & Amanda in third, Margie & Luke in fourth, Brad & Victoria in fifth and Cara & Jamie in sixth.

Kisha & Jen again take several wrong turns on their way to Schloss Hellbrunn but ultimately receive directions at a gas station and, pulling ahead of the stuntmen, arrive seventh. Michael & Mark also have trouble navigating the roads of Bavaria and fall back to eighth place. Christie & Jodi maintain their next to last place position in ninth while Steve & Linda arrive tenth, and in a tearful departure, are eliminated from the race.
