Taj Eliminated on Survivor Finale Part OneSurvivor: Tocantins, I Trust You But I Trust Me More – P. 1
Stephen began to question he and J.T.'s friendship; Taj and Erinn plead for Stephen's vote at tribal council
The May 17, 2009 episode of Survivor: Tocantins, I Trust You But I Trust Me More, was the final episode of the season. Immunity ChallengeThe players had to travel through the legs of a gigantic spider-shaped maze in their immunity challenge. The object was to retrieve the bags of puzzle pieces at the bottom of each leg, and the first person to finish their puzzle would win immunity. J.T. had the lead through most of the game, but Stephen caught up to him when he started completing the puzzle. Stephen got stuck though, and it came down to Erinn and J.T. Erinn almost had it when J.T.’s last piece didn’t fit his last open space, but J.T. prevailed. Waiver on LoyaltyErinn was very nervous after losing immunity. She knew she had to make a good case to Stephen and J.T. or she would definitely be voted out. Erinn told Stephen and J.T. that she felt Taj was a really good person, and she said she believed Taj would get a lot of votes if she were in the final two. Stephen and J.T. privately discussed Erinn’s point, and J.T. began to wonder if Erinn was right. Stephen’s thoughts were more toward him not being able to beat Taj for a spot in the final two, and he worried Taj wouldn’t chose him to be in the finals if she won immunity. The thought of beating Taj was definitely second to Stephen’s worry about having to beat J.T. though. Stephen said earlier that he knew his betrayal of Coach wasn’t going to look as good in the jury’s eyes as J.T.’s sole vote for Erinn to go when it was Erinn versus Coach for elimination. Stephen knew it was J.T.’s strategy, and he began to wonder if a million dollars was more important than friendship to J.T. Tribal CouncilAt tribal council Taj brought up the fact that keeping Erinn could be detrimental to Stephen and J.T. She said if Erinn was in the final two the jury would probably vote for her because they were all on the original Timbira. Stephen was put on the spot and asked if he would rather keep Taj or Erinn, and he vaguely answered. He basically said he was going to keep whoever will be the easiest to beat. In the end, Stephen chose the person he could beat, and Taj was voted out.
