An Alliance Between Timbira and Jalapao
Timbira returns from Tribal Council after having voted Jerry out because he was ill. At Jalapao, Taj talks to Stephen and tells him of the alliance plan that she and Brendan have discussed. Stephen is thrilled to be included in the plan. At the next reward challenge, if Jalapao wins, they will choose Sierra to go to Exile. According to the plan, Sierra will choose Stephen to join her. If Timbira wins, Stephen would be chosen from Jalapao, and he would take Sierra with him.
Reward Challenge
At the reward challenge, three members of each tribe will have a pole placed across their shoulders. In each round, two members of the opposing tribe will decide who will get two 20 pound weights placed on their pole. As weight is added, the poleholders can drop out if they cannot hold the weight. The last person standing will win reward for their tribe. The reward is a camp raid, where two members of the winning tribe will visit the losing tribe's camp and select two items to take with them. The winning tribe will also send a member of the losing tribe to Exile.
Poleholders for Timbira are Brendan, Tyson and Debbie; with JT, Joe and Taj for Jalapao. Brendan gets 180 pounds before dropping out. Tyson and Joe both drop out with 140 pounds, while JT drops out at 220 pounds. The challenge depends on the two women, who each are holding 100 pounds. Debbie drops out first, and Taj wins the challenge for Jalapao.
Exile
According to plan, Taj selects Sierra to go to Exile. Stephen is ready to join her, however Sierra names Taj. Taj learns that Brendan has not talked to Sierra, so she fills her in on the plan. At Exile, the girls also choose their urns, and Taj gets the clue. It further confirms for her the fact that the hidden idol is at camp.
The Raid
JT and Joe raid Timbira's camp, selecting one bag of beans and one container of water. Thinking ahead, they decide that if for some reason there is a tribal switch and they end up on Timbira, they want to be sure there is food. Back at Jalapao, Sandy is unhappy with the decision, even after JT explains to her why they didn't take all of the food. Sandy is not only unhappy with the boys' decision, she is irritated with Sydney for constantly flirting with all the men on the tribe.
Immunity Challenge
At the immunity challenge, one member of each tribe will race against each other on a zigzag maze to retrieve a puzzle piece. Once that member returns to the mat, another member can race out to retrieve another piece. Once the tribe has retrieved all eight puzzle pieces, the tribes will then work to complete a puzzle spelling out a correct phrase. The first tribe to correctly complete the phrase will win immunity. Jalapao has the lead in retrieving the puzzle pieces, but the two tribes become even when it is time to solve the puzzle. Timbira figures out the correct phrase and wins immunity.
Tribal Council
Jalapao wants to vote Sandy off, but Taj stands up for her, saying that Sandy is better in the challenges than Sydney. Some of the men start to question about their decision. However, in a 5 to 2 vote, Sandy Burgin is voted off.
