The Jalapao and Timbira tribes are still trying to get to know their tribe mates on the second episode of Survivor: Tocantins.

Leaving the first Tribal Council with torches, Jalapao returns to camp to build a fire. Sandy expresses her thanks to the tribe for not voting her out and allowing her to remain in Brazil for at least three more days.

The Next Day - No Fire for Timbira, No Protein for Jalapao

The following day, Jalapao decides they need some protein since they did not get any of the rice and beans when they first arrived in Brazil. As a tribe, they go out looking for termites and come across a large colony. As they are gathering the insects, some of the tribe members decide to feast on the bugs raw.

At Timbira, the Survivors cannot seem to get a fire going. Sierra tells Brendan about the hidden idol clue she got when she arrived at camp alone the first day. She and Brendan head off to the beach to search for it. As they are digging for the next clue, Debbie walks up. Thinking quickly, Sierra tells her that she and Brendan are digging a fire pit so that the tribe can have a bonfire on the beach later.

Coach and Candace argue over how to fix the rice and beans. Candace believes they should be cooked separately to last longer, but Coach believes they should be cooked together for more flavor.

At Jalapao, as the tribe is getting to know each other, Taj tells the others that she is married to former NFL star Eddie George. Most of the guys are impressed, although Stephen admits he does knot know who Eddie George is. JT, while impressed, says that he can use the one million dollar prize a lot more than Taj.

Immunity Challenge

The tribes meet host Jeff Probst for the Immunity Challenge. At this challenge, three members of each tribe will face each other in the water. On Jeff's signal, teams are to retrieve a ball and try to shoot a basket while the other tribe tries to block the shot.

Tribe members in the water will change after each basket. The first tribe to score three baskets will win immunity. The winning tribe will also receive fishing gear and a chance to send someone from the losing tribe to Exile.

Since Timbira has one more member than Jalapao, Debbie is chosen to sit out. Timbira scores the first two baskets. Jalapao then evens the game by scoring the next two points. Whichever tribe scores the next basket wins the challenge. A battle ensues, but Jalapao triumphs, scoring the winning basket.

Exile

Jalapao also gets to choose one member of Timbira to go to Exile, and they choose Brendan. In a twist, Jeff informs Brendan that he can choose one member of Jalapao to join him. Brendan chooses Taj.

Once Taj and Brendan arrive at Exile, they are faced with two urns. Each of them are to choose an urn. One jar containes a clue to the hidden immunity idol. Brendan's urn holds the clue, along with another note offering him the opportunity to join the other tribe. He declines joining Jalapao, but he shares the idol clue with Taj. From the clue they determine that the idol is hidden somewhere at their camps.

At Camp

At Jalapao, JT and Stephen are becoming unlikely friends, as JT teaches Stephen how to spearfish.

Timbira discusses their upcoming vote. Candace wants to vote out Coach. Debbie tells Coach and Tyson that Candace has been talking trash about them, so Coach decides that Candace needs to leave. However, he has already told Erinn,Candace and Jerry to stick to their original plan and vote out Sierra.

Tribal Council

Trust is the topic at Tribal Council, and most of the Timbira tribe mates declare that it is too early in the game to really trust anyone.

Once the tribe votes, it is discovered that Sierra has survived the first Timbira Tribal Council. After a 7-1 vote, Candace is the second person voted out of Survivor: Tocantins.
