Russell on the Chopping Block

After Tribal Council, Russell knew he was extremely vulnerable without the hidden Immunity Idol. At night, the Galu women were thrilled that Russell unnecessarily played the idol because they could easily vote him out next.

Natalie Becomes a Provider

As Natalie was in the jungle, she found a rat and killed it due to her extreme starvation. Natalie’s tribemates were thrilled that the “Southern Belle” had grown immensely in her 22 days on the island.

Meanwhile, Russell was suspicious that the hidden Immunity Idol he played at Tribal Council was re-hidden at the Aiga camp. He made a prediction that he would find it, but he had to wait until after the Reward Challenge to search.

Reward Challenge

At the Reward Challenge, the eleven members of Aiga were divided into two teams of five. They had to retrieve poles threaded with white and black coconuts. Then, they had to arrange those coconuts so they formed a four-digit number. Finally, a blindfolded team member had to match the same numbers on a combination lock, which would raise a flag. The first team to do so was transported to a natural rock slide and would enjoy a feast.

The teams were randomly chosen and because there were 11 members, one member was forced to sit out. Natalie was randomly chosen not to participate, but was given the opportunity to choose a team to support. If she chose the winning team, she would accompany them on the reward. Natalie chose to support the Yellow team, which was made up of Brett, Laura, Mick, Jaison, and Russell.

Natalie’s team was off to a quick lead. But the Purple team (made up of Dave, Kelly, John, Monica, and Shambo) overtook them on the puzzle. Dave told Monica the combination as Yellow got their combination. It came down to a race between Monica for Purple and Laura for Yellow. Monica had a big head-start and won for Purple.

Rock Slide Reward

The winning team enjoyed the rock slides, which John described as “killer.” It was a day of relaxation. As the castaways enjoyed their feast, they discovered another clue for a new hidden Immunity Idol in their basket. They planned to show the clue to only the Galu members. Immediately, the talk turned to voting out Russell, but Shambo voiced her desire to keep him in the game. Kelly noted that even if Shambo voted to keep Russell, the vote would still be 6-5 against Russell.

Russell Finds His Second Idol

Back at camp, Russell began his search for yet another hidden Immunity Idol. After searching around treemail and various other locations, he found it under the wooden bridge, without any clues once again.

After Russell found the idol, he shared it with Shambo. Shambo explained that she had been aligned with Foa Foa for the past two weeks, and a new plan was hatched for the 4 Foa Foa members and Shambo to vote for Laura. The 6 Galu members would vote out Russell, who would play the idol and shock everyone. Laura would then be eliminated since she would have the next highest number of votes.

Immunity Challenge

In the first round, the castaways had to use a grappling hook to get a hold of two bags. The first three to do so moved on to the final round. Those three castaways then had to place a series of multi-shaped pegs into their correct places on a puzzle board. The first person to correctly do so won Immunity.

Mick was the first to retrieve his two bags. Shambo was second. Then in a race between Laura and Russell, Laura narrowly won out and moved on to the final round.

In the final round, Shambo was off to an early lead. Laura struggled at first, but then quickly overtook the other two. Laura won her second Individual Immunity Challenge, and felt confident that Russell would be the next person voted off.

The Mad Scramble

After the challenge, Shambo was heartbroken and pissed off that Laura was once again safe from the vote. The plan switched to voting off Kelly or Monica to cause some dissention in the Galu ranks.

Before Tribal Council, Russell shared his idol with Jaison and told him the plan was to vote off Kelly. Jaison and Russell then filled in Mick and Natalie, who quickly agreed.

Meanwhile, Monica suggested that Galu split their votes in case Russell found the idol. Dave told her it wasn’t the time, and he didn’t think Russell even knew to look for the idol. But he was sorely mistaken…

Galu Tribal Council

At Tribal Council, the discussion was centred on whether or not the four Foa Foa members still had a chance in the game. Both the Foa Foa and Galu members agreed that Galu was a tight group.

As Jeff returned with the votes, Russell shocked the Galu tribe by playing yet another hidden Immunity Idol. Jeff read the votes: the first seven votes were all for Russell and then the next vote was for Kelly. Kelly received the next three votes and since the votes against Russell were nullified, Kelly left the game with a total of four votes cast against her.

As the castaways prepared to go back to camp, Jeff informed them that the hidden Immunity Idol would once again be re-hidden. Next week, the search is on as the entire Aiga tribe scours the camp for it.
