Survivor Samoa Episode 2 Recap; Two Go HomeSurvivor Season 19 Episode 2 Proved to be Quite Exciting
The second episode for the new season of Survivor Samoa turned out to be a very interesting character study full of excitement and drama.
Episode2 of Survivor’s 19th season began with Russell H. (the oil company owner) trying to connive even more than he did in the previous episode, and that included trying to convince Betsy (the police officer) again that she should talk with him. It really is starting to look like Russell H. is going to be the downfall of the Foa Foa tribe, and that if the other members of his tribe don’t figure it out soon enough, they are going to start losing challenges and begin turning on each other. Life at the Foa Foa TribeRussell H. was approached by Jaison to talk about a couple of their tribe mates, including Ben which they both felt that they should team up to work against. It seems like Jaison may have been “snowed” by Russell H. so far, but hopefully for his sake he figures out that he is being used. Together they started looking for a hidden immunity idol, with Russell feeling that for sure it must be somewhere in camp, and he wanted to be the first person to ever find it without a clue. Somehow he got amazingly lucky, and actually stumbled across it while digging up into a tree stump. He was sly enough to hide it before anyone saw it, and he actually showed it to Jaison before stowing it away. Meanwhile the rest of the tribe started debating on whether to vote out Mike or Betsy next. That is just showing the rifts that are building in the tribe, and quite possibly that they don’t feel they can win these challenges, no matter what they actually say out loud. Survivor Samoa Immunity Challenge #2 This week’s challenge involved three members of each tribe that were attempting to grab three balls and pass them on to their teammates who then had to shoot baskets with the balls like they were playing basketball. The trick was to be able to grab them first, and it quickly boiled down to a huge wresting match between the tribes to gain control of those balls. In the first round the three men participated with three women from each team shooting the baskets. The shots were a long way off from where the shooters were, so it wasn’t the easiest thing to make a basket. Meanwhile things were getting extremely physical down below. Foa Foa ended up winning the first round on a shot by Liz. The second round switched the women to the “court” with the men shooting, and it was far less rough than before, at first, but later it got violent. John ended making a shot for Galu to give them round two. It was at that point that host Jeff Probst warned everyone to play clean or be thrown out. Round three was a mix of sexes, and it was still a big wrestling match. Ben tried to kick the legs out of another member, and was kicked out. That cost Foa Foa a player in the round. Eric made the shot for Galu, giving them a 2-1 lead, with the first team to three getting the win. Galu then put in another shot soon into the fourth round, giving them the win and taking home the immunity for the day. The reward was that they would be taking home fishing gear, and a secret note. The note stated that the Galu leader got to send one person to view the other teams tribal council meeting, and also got a special note that was held a secret at that point. He chose Yasmin to go check out the other camp. Yasmin sure stirred things up to, including yelling at Ben, who had committed the cheap shot in the immunity challenge. It turned Ben into an angry man, and several people wanted him gone. Mike Pulled From the GameMike, a private chef that was on Foa Foa, had to be pulled from Survivor Samoa after he was in a bad collision during the challenge, and was unable to keep his blood pressure down after that point. A Survivor doctor felt it was best to take him out of the game at that point. It put Foa Foa down two people already on the season. Survivor Samoa Tribal Council #2 After a lot of posturing, and with Betsy and Russell each talking about how their tribe was surviving, Foa Foa went to their vote. Rather than taking out Ben the troublemaker, the tribe voted out Betsy the police officer.
