Survivor on CBS - Episode 10A Summary of the Tenth Episode of the Gabon CastawaysNov 23, 2008 Nichole Richardson
In the tenth episode of Survivor, the castaways have been living in Africa 28 days and have merged together as one new tribe called "Nobag."
Corinne, Randy, and Bob come to the realization that since Crystal and Ken have started to take out their alliance, they are next on the list to go. Sugar and Bob go into the woods where Bob confesses he never found the idol at Exile Island (which Sugar already knew because she has it) and shows her the highly elaborate, but fake idol he has made to fool people. Corinne and Randy discuss how they hate all the remaining players and plan to pull Matty away from Sugar and over to their (old Kota) side. The Survivor Auction The tribe is called to an auction where each person is given $500.00 (to bid in increments of $20.00) on various prizes. Contestants are not allowed to pool their money and cannot share their prizes this season. Randy starts out the auction by bidding $180.00 on three cold beers and some peanuts. Ken pays $340.00 for a covered clue that states, "Send yourself or someone else to Exile Island and take their money", to which he chooses to send Bob again. Susie pays $340.00 for a hot bath and her own clean clothes, but then does the unthinkable when she gets out of the tub before the auction is even over! Corinne spends her entire $500.00 on a bottle with a clue inside which she is told cannot be opened until the next immunity challenge. Jeff tells the contestants the next $20.00 bid buys the prize for the whole tribe. Randy bids to find out the prize is Chocolate Chip Cookies and asks Jeff if he can eat them all himself to which Probst reiterates "They are for the whole tribe." Sugar declines her cookie and when the last one remains on the plate she takes it and hands it to Matty, thus offending Randy. The Game Becomes HeatedRandy returns to camp with an attitude (big surprise) and a vendetta against Sugar. Sugar notices Matty is really beginning to play the game as he strategises about how to vote out Bob, Randy, and then Corinne. At Exile, Bob realizes someone has already found the idol and decides to hike through the "Garden of Eden" instead of looking for it. Randy tells Corinne his "diabolical plan" (which he calls "Operation Strong Arm") of acting nastier than normal in order to get everyone to vote for him. He assumes Bob has found the idol and will give it to him to play so that the tribe's votes for him won't count, thus forcing the Survivors to vote out the person with the second highest amount of votes (who he hopes will be Susie). Immunity ChallengeBob returns from E.I. in time for a challenge in which the players will race across a series of balance beams while carrying a bag of puzzle blocks. When they reach the finish they must head back to the start and do it again. The first two people who get their three bags across the line move on to the final round. Once in the finals, players must empty their block bags and arrange the blocks on a multi-angle platform while avoiding trip wires. The goal is to arrange the blocks so they will fall one into another like Dominos, thus raising a flag. The first to raise their flag wins, guaranteeing a one-in-seven shot at one million dollars. Corinne is asked to read the advantage clue she bought at the auction which reveals she will sit out the first half and automatically join in the final round, guaranteeing her a one-in-three shot at winning the challenge. Ken, Matty, and Corinne enter the finals and when Matty and Corinne's blocks stop short-Kenny's keep going to produce a win! Sugar's RevengeSugar talks with Bob and wants him to give his fake idol to Randy to play to humiliate him because she thinks he's a "biggot." Bob fools both Corinne and Randy with his fake idol and gives it to Randy to play at Tribal. Corinne and Randy think their plan is going perfectly, but in reality Sugar is running the show. A Tribal Council to RememberTonight's Tribal includes the best blindside of the season, to date. Tensions are running high and the chocolate chip cookie conversation turns into an ordeal. Members begin setting up Randy to believe he will be voted for the most and should therefore use his (fake) idol. Bob makes a point to manipulate the situation even further when he tells Jeff that he's "made a point to tell whether he's got the idol or not," thus convincing Randy and Corinne even further that it is authentic. Crystal is so loud as she writes down Randy's name that the whole tribe can hear her-which leaves Sugar amused. After everyone votes, Randy plays the fake idol and he and Corinne don't notice the others laughing at them. Jeff informs Randy that the idol is a fake and he then gets eliminated from the game; thus making him the eleventh person voted out and the third member of the jury! Survivor airs on Thursday nights at 7pm central on CBS. Stay tuned for next week's re-cap.
