So You Think You Can Dance Canada Top 20SYTYCD Season 2 Selects Top Dancers for the Dance Competition
A second season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada begins by selecting the Top 20 dancers from across five Canadian provinces.
The Emmy Award-winning So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) created by Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller begins its second season in Canada. Hosted by Leah Miller, the show features Jean Marc Genereux and Tre Armstrong as permanent judges, serving as counterparts to the US show’s Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy. So You Think You Can Dance Canada kicked off its second season by selecting the top 20 dancers who will compete weekly for the CAN $100,000 grand prize. Judges visited five provinces to review a large pool of talent. The judges watched both comical performances and stunning numbers to arrive at 200 dancers for the final showdown. The finalists faced rigorous choreography sessions from a variety of genres. From this set of dancers, the judges selected 46 hopefuls who were then narrowed down to the top 20. The top 20 dancers for SYTYCD Season 2 hail from across five provinces, with Ontario and Quebec offering up eight and five dancers respectively. Alberta provides four dancers and British Columbia another two. Nova Scotia rounds out the top 20 with its one dancer. SYTYCD Season 2 is hoped to meet or beat last year’s popularity and talent level as well. "We had amazing talent our first season, but the quality of the dancers we discovered this year has set the bar even higher," said Sandra Faire, Executive Producer SYTYCD. Early judge favorites appear to be ballroom dancer, Vincent Desjardins, and contemporary dancer, Melanie Mah. And, the audience of young girls is expected to fall in love with the boy-faced, Cody Bonnell. Top 10 Women:
