Secrets are Revealed on the Southern Belles
The Belles Took Their Annual Trip to the Lake on the Third Episode
The women of the Southern Belles reality show on SOAPnet took a trip to stay in a cabin for the weekend to bond. Kellie’s secret shocked the other women, a marshmallow eating contest turned competitive, and two women gave each other makeovers.
Shea
Shea said that they made a pact to always take an annual trip to the lake to go camping. The women stayed in a cabin with bedrooms and bathrooms. It didn’t look like camping, and they definitely weren’t roughing it. Shea was offended that Emily took a nap while the other women unpacked the groceries and got things set up for the weekend. When they got back from their weekend trip, Shea accompanied Jeff to his ceremony to be sworn in as a Kentucky lawyer.
Kellie
While Kellie was packing for the weekend away, she got a call from a client requesting that she hook him up with a date for the night. She seemed stressed out and revealed to the camera, not the other women, that she struggled with an eating disorder. The southern belles stopped to pick up food for the weekend. Hadley became frustrated with Kellie, because she kept removing her junk food items from the cart.
Kellie told the other women that she had a miscarriage about three years ago. She said that it changed her marriage and discussed her desire to have children. Kellie said that her husband came home one day and told her that it would be best if one of them moved out of the house. Kellie reported that she needs to find complete closure.
After Kellie returned to Louisville, she had a discussion with her mom. Kellie told her mom that she used a lot of cocaine and had a serious eating disorder after the divorce. She reported that she had to get a hole repaired in her nose due to the drug use. Kellie’s mom hugged her and apologized for not knowing at the time. Kellie said, “You’re only as sick as your secrets.”
Julie
Julie didn’t travel to the cabin with the other women. She said that she had to work and met with the casting director that had told her that she was too old for the modeling she wanted to do. He suggested she play the role of the soccer mom, and Julie agreed to try it. They sent her to get new photographs made. She did make it to the cabin for a short period of time.
Hadley
During the girl bonding weekend, Hadley suggested that they have a marshmallow eating contest to see who could fit the most marshmallows in her mouth. Emily took the contest seriously and wanted to prove to the other women that she could fit the most. Hadley discussed her relationship with Sterling with the other women, and she told them that she felt smothered by him.
When Hadley got back to Louisville, she had a heart to heart with her mom about her relationship with Sterling. She told her mom that she felt overwhelmed, and her mom said that she wasn’t surprised. Hadley decided to take a break from her relationship with Sterling and called him to let him know.
Emily
While the women enjoyed s’mores by the fire, Emily asked Shea if she ever dated outside of her level. Shea seemed offended and said that she has dated men in the army, with other religious backgrounds, and from different areas of the world. Emily made it her mission to give Shea a makeover, so they each gave the other an opportunity to play dress up. Emily put Shea in a leopard top, tight pants, and red heels, and Shea had Emily dress conservatively.
Emily hired an image consultant to help her with her image for Las Vegas. The image consultant asked her if she was trying to look professional or trying to look like a Las Vegas showgirl. Emily had a meltdown and ran out of the room saying, “I’m done.”
The third episode of the Southern Belles was filled with mother/daughter heart to heart talks, revealing secrets, and makeovers.
