In the first episode of The Duel 2, 26 former Real Worlders and Road Rulers meet in New Zealand to compete for $300,000. Nick is sent home after the first male duel.

In the opening of The Duel II: Episode 1, the cast is shown reflecting on why they’ve come to New Zealand to compete in this year’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge. TJ Lavin is back and introduces himself to the cast as the host for the challenge.

Rules of Duel 2

TJ explains that after each challenge, there will be one guy winner and one girl winner. Those two will then deliberate on which person they will choose from the remaining players. The person they choose will then choose another player or the opposite sex, that process continues until there is one guy and one girl left not chosen. Those two remaining players will be going to the Duel. The two players then choose one player of the same sex to face them in the Duel.

Each challenge is individual, and at the end there will be six players competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes. After hearing the rules, the players are excited to be in New Zealand competing. Evan says, “We are amongst the clouds, playing with the gods.”

The Duel 2 Cast Back at Their House

Everyone runs into the house to find rooms and get ready to party. Soon everyone is talking about how attractive everyone is and who he or she might hook up with during the challenge. The first make out seen: Davis, Ryan and Brooke in the hot tub.

CT Causes Drama on the First Night

Diem explains that after a long relationship with CT, they have broken up. She told him they might be together five years from now, but her career comes first.

Rumors swirled that CT hooked up with Shauvon on the roof of the house. After overhearing a conversation between Adam and Diem, CT punches Adam in the face and the two get into a fight. Once the fight is broken up, CT and Adam are sent home.

To replace Adam and CT, MJ and Nehemiah are brought in.

The First Challenge of The Duel 2

The first challenge, “Last Man Standing,” is separated into a girl’s game and a guy’s game. Each game is also separated into two phases. During phase one, there are two teams of six (one person sits out); the teams try to retrieve a rugby ball and score in their opponent’s goal. The team to score first wins and will move on to phase two. The person sitting out will play in phase 2 and be safe from the duel. In phase two, the player who sat out is now the tackler, their team runs towards them and they can tackle whoever they want. Once a player is tackled, they become one of the tacklers. This continues until there is one man standing, they are the winner.

Robin is the last girl standing and Evan is the last guy standing. After the game, MJ forms an alliance with Robin and Nick tells everyone he’s hurting from tackling Eric.

Deliberation and Choosing the Players for the First Duel

After some deliberation arguing, Robin and Evan decide to pick MJ first. After alternating boy-girl picks, Ryan is the last guy and Shauvon is the last girl. Ryan chooses Nick to face in the Duel and Shauvon picks Aneesa.

The First Duel on The Duel 2

Ryan and Nick get Elevator and they have to lift their opponent up through a pulley system. The player to raise their opponent up first is the winner. After a close game, Ryan wins and Nick is sent home.

Shauvon and Aneesa get Back Off. Players have a hook on their back and they have to get their opponents hook onto a suspended ring twice to win the game.

The episode ends before the girl’s duel starts. It will be continued on the next episode, airing on MTV on Wednesday, April 15th at 10:00 p.m.
