Robert and Estella Eliminated – The Superstars

On the June 30, 2009 episode of “The Superstars,” 102, the celebrities and athletes dashed through the sand and leaped over a bar in the water.
Terrell and Joanna’s Strong Comeback
The first challenge was a two-piece sprint – one player ran the first leg, the second player ran the second leg. The last team to finish each race was eliminated, and the races continued until only one team was left. Terrell/Joanna took the early lead with the first win, but Robert/Estella were the first team eliminated.
Bode had a false start at the beginning of each race, which threw many of the players off. He said he did it because it caused people to anticipate and look for a second false start. This gave him a huge lead at the beginning of each race.
Dan had a bad fall during one of the races. He was taken away by medics, and we later learned he would not return to the competition. We also learned later that David, Jennifer’s ex-partner, would be brought back to take Dan’s place with Lisa.
The final three teams were Bode/Paige, Terrell/Joanna and Kristi/Maks. Paige didn’t think they could beat the other two teams so she sat when the race started. She said they would rather take 10 less points but save their energy. Terrell/Joanna won the challenge.
Kristi and Maks Jump to Number One
In the second competition the players had to estimate how far they could jump then run down a 48 foot plank and in to the water. The player’s score was the equivalent of how far they jumped. If they missed the bar that marked their guess or broke the bar they received no points. The winner was the team with the biggest total.

Lisa and David vs. Brandi and Julio
Paige/Bode, Jeff/Ali and Robert/Estella had to compete in the elimination obstacle course based on their scores, but Lisa/David and Brandi/Julio competed in the rubber match for the final spot.
The two competing teams were given one more jump per person, and the team with the lowest total would compete in the elimination. Lisa/David jumped 22’. Brandi/Julio would have won with 22’1”, but Julio didn’t clear the bar.
The first heat of the week’s elimination was Robert/Estella versus Brandi/Julio. Julio gained a huge lead when Robert tripped in the sand, but Brandi almost lost their lead when she didn’t move fast enough over the wall. Estella tripped at two different points, and Brandi/Julio finished first making them safe for another week.
The second heat was Bode/Paige versus Jeff/Ali. Bode moved extremely fast, and he made it to the cargo net before Jeff hit halfway. Bode got stuck in the cargo net, giving Jeff the lead. Paige and Ali were side-by-side until the cargo nets. Ali got stuck so Paige finished first, securing safety for her team.
The elimination heat was Robert/Estella versus Jeff/Ali. Jeff took the early lead, and his team’s lead became even larger when Robert got stuck in the cargo net. Estella gained a little placement but not enough. Jeff/Ali finished first, and Robert/Estella were sent home.
