Week 7 on Season 8 of The Biggest Loser was full of emotional breakthroughs, a record breaking weigh-in, and a very sad, tear jerking goodbye.

In week 7 of season 8 of The Biggest Loser contestants were told they would be facing off with someone from the other team in that weeks weigh-in. The losing team for the week would have three out of five players lose the weigh-in and have to choose a player to be sent home.

Limbo Challenge for Power

The first challenge of a week involves team members running back and forth under a bar . On each side of the bar there is a disc that contestants have to tap. The winning team to make 500 taps gets to choose who they will go against in the week seven weigh in. Team members can tap as many as possible and then tag another team member to come in. Each team member can have only one turn. Both teams put forth a great effort but in the end the blue team narrowly reached 500 taps first. The blue team got to choose who they would go against.

Amanda Breaks Down

Amanda is pushed to her limits in the gym by Jillian this week. She says she cannot stand the pressure of the cameras in her face and being pushed to do things she knows she cannot do. She ends up walking out of the gym and out on Jillian. Later she and Jillian discuss what happened and how Amanda's fear of failure actually causes her to sabotage herself. Amanda reveals she is afraid of losing weight and not being the fat girl and this is what holds her back.

Baseball Challenge for Two Pound Advantage

The second challenge in week 7 of season 8 of The Biggest Loser involved contestants throwing baseballs at life size pictures of other contestants taken at the beginning of the season. Derek Jeter helped announce this challenge. Contestants had to hit a cut out with 316 balls to take that contestant out of the game. The black team focused on eliminating the strongest members of the blue team and ended up winning the challenge as well as a two pound advantage. As an additional reward celebrity chef Curtis Stone prepares healthy lunch for the black team.

Jillian and Abby Share an Emotional Moment

While helping her work out Jillian asks Abby what it is like to lose everything. Jillian admitted in the season premiere if her husband and kids were killed she would kill herself. Abby declares it is beyond anyone's worst nightmare. Jillian asks what Abby wants from her experience at the ranch and Abby states she has already found it. She is starting to live again and starting to allow herself to feel love for others. Jillian clasps her hands and they share an emotional moment of silence.

Shay and Jillian Have a Breakthrough

Jillian pushes Shay to discuss how her mother's abuse and neglect led her to turn to food. Shay breaks down and talks about how she had to survive and not die her whole life. Jillian helps Shay realize that what her mother did was not her fault and that she had to forgive herself.

Abby Sacrifices Herself

The black team loses the weigh in and must decide which player needs to go home. Much as Moe asked to be voted off in season five, Abby told the team she wanted to be the one voted off. She told her fellow teammates that she was there to find herself again and she had done this. With heavy hearts the black team sent Abby home.

Viewers were able to see that Abby was successful at home and had turned her life around. Not only did she lose weight, she was working as an motivational speaker and talking about overcoming tragedy in schools around the country.
