Kim-tervention: Recap of Show that Aired August 6, 2009
In this episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 2, Kim is cornered by NeNe about their relationship. Shereé has lost all patience with Kim and tells the audience that NeNe told her that Kim has always been a liar. The drama unravels at the end of the episode.
Shereé Gets a Gun
Shereé has lunch with her friend Tania and tells her about the incident with Anthony. She has decided to change her plans for her independence party. She has also decided to get a gun for self-defense. Tania served in the army and has experience with guns, so she teaches Sheree how to handle it safely. She takes her to the shooting range. Shereé says it makes her feel powerful and in control.
Lisa and Ed Try to Make a Baby
Lisa still wants to have a baby, and she is worried how they will work it out if Ed goes back to the NFL. She even thinks she may want to have twins.
They visit a fertility clinic. The doctor tells them about some of the risks associated with pregnancy over the age of 35. The doctor also tells them that she had a baby at age 38 and the baby is healthy and fine. Ed says he is ready to go.
Ed cooks a romantic dinner of spring salad, Chilean sea bass, and strawberries to surprise Lisa. He decorates the table with rose petals to spell L-O-V-E, and scatters rose petals in a heart design on the floor around the table. The stairs to the bedroom are lined with candles.
Ed leads a giggling Lisa upstairs. He gives her a massage and fills the tub with hot water and bubbles for a perfect ending to their romantic evening.
Kandi Burruss Tells her Mom that AJ is a Good Man
Kandi is upset about things said on the blogs about her and AJ. She defends AJ. She says he is a good man and is always with the kids. AJ says, “Who cares what everybody thinks?”
Kandi makes a trip to her mom’s house and visits with her Aunt Nora, Uncle Ralph, her mom, Joyce, and her Aunt Bertha. Joyce tells Kandi she could make a better choice. She doesn’t think AJ will be a good father to Riley. Kandi says he is doing what he needs to do with his kids. Aunt Nora tells Joyce she raised a good daughter. Aunt Bertha gives her blessing to Kandi and AJ.
Kandi goes to the studio to meet with Jazze Pha, her music producer, and get her stressful feelings out through her music. She works on a song about AJ. The lyrics tell about her relationship with him and that it must be good, good, good.
NeNe Confronts Kim about Their Problems
Dean Pardue brings over some slinky, sexy clothes for Kim to try on. She wants to look good because she is ready to move on after Big Poppa. She says she will work as hard as she needs to get clothes, even if she has to work three jobs.
NeNe calls Kim to have a meeting with Lisa, Shereé, and herself. Kim says she prefers to meet with NeNe alone. They meet for drinks at Cinco’s. Kim and NeNe discuss their friendship and what happened between them. Kim agrees to meet with NeNe and Shereé together only if Lisa is not included. They have a few drinks, then they hug and pinky swear they will be honest when they meet with Shereé.
NeNe calls Shereé and tells her that she has arranged for her and Kim to meet on Thursday. Before this meeting, Lisa and NeNe go to dinner and gossip about Kim. They say she has at least three personalities: Kim, Kimberly, and Keena.
When Kim, NeNe, and Shereé finally meet at the restaurant, NeNe wants to air all of their issues. Kim jokingly brings out a bike helmet in case they decide to poke their heels into her. NeNe tells her they are having an intervention. She wants to hash things out and move forward. She confronts Kim about her saying Gregg is bankrupt.
Kim denies that she said anything bad about Gregg. Kim says that Shereé told her that NeNe was renting her house. Shereé denies it. NeNe gets angry and everyone starts yelling. The waiters and other people begin to stare. NeNe says that Kim said Shereé was bouncing checks for shoes. The shouting escalates until Shereé calls Kim trailer trash. Kim stomps out of the restaurant. But that isn’t the end. Shereé and NeNe follow her and the argument becomes physical. To see what happens next, viewers will need to tune in to Episode 18, on August 13, 2009 on Bravo TV.
