Hell’s Kitchen, “HK5: Day Eight”

In the morning Ramsay showed the chefs how to make steak and scallop tartare. He had all the chefs try it but didn’t tell them he had replaced the ingredients with tuna and sea bass. Everyone was very embarrassed.

Their next challenge was the taste test. To even things up LA quickly offered to sit out. She didn’t feel confident because she is a smoker. Giovanni and Robert were the only ones to get none correct. The red team won and got to do a TV Guide photo shoot. The losing team had to wait on the winning team during the photo shoot and prep both kitchens.

Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) were at the night’s dinner service.

Paula was the first to screw up at service with a salty risotto. Robert became frustrated when Ramsay asked Ben to help and Ben took over. Andrea was worried about Carol on meat station, and Carol did struggle with the timing of things. When the Wellingtons came out they were cold, which made everything worse. Andrea tried to communicate, but she wouldn’t talk back. Andrea had her own problems though. Her food was dry and rubbery.

Lacey panicked on meat station. When she admitted she can’t cook meat Ramsay took her to the back room to tell her to “get a grip.” When she got back the boys tried to help her to save service. Things just got worse after that, and Lacey couldn’t handle Ramsay yelling at her. Finally, he threw her out for good.

Carol continued to have problems with the meat and started to break down. LA was frustrated because she had to wait on Carol’s meat all the time and was being yelled at by Ramsay for being late.

After dinner service Ramsay applauded the blue team for their sincere teamwork after Lacey left. The red team was then sent to think of two people to send home.

At elimination LA was nominated for being only OK and Carol was nominated because she has had several very bad services. Paula also mentioned that the team was thinking about nominating Andrea, so Ramsay brought all three of them to center floor. LA thought she was up there only because she doesn’t communicate well in the kitchen. In the end LA was sent home because she wasn’t a leader.
