New contestants are introduced to Majide; The Green Tigers take an early lead; Kimberly refuses to dirty her nice nails.

The second season of I Survived a Japanese Game Show premiered on June 17, 2009. The show is about several Americans competing on a wacky Japanese game show for $250,000. Each week the players compete in two challenges, and the losing team is forced to nominate two people to compete in an elimination challenge.

Red Robots

  • Yari Agramonte
  • Dan Barbour
  • Justin Brown
  • Jamie Lewis
  • Drew Sealey
  • Kimberley Whittaker

Green Tigers

  • Brent Alexander
  • Megan Bentley
  • Cathy Grosam
  • Debbie Kaufman
  • Bob “Bobaloo” Koenig
  • Linda Plaxen

Green Tigers Barely Win

The object of the first game was to make it across a narrow beam with as many Japanese meal boxes as possible while the other team catapulted balls at you. The team with the most boxes across the line won.

Kimberly felt the other girls on her team would be too girly for the game, and she was somewhat correct. She managed to make it across with seven boxes, but Jamie fell off the beam, dropping all of her boxes, and Yari lost all of her boxes after being hit. Justin made it across the line with all of his boxes, and the Red Robots ended up with 57 boxes over the line.

The Green Tigers didn’t appear to do much better. Bob fell off the beam right after stepping on, dropping all of his boxes. Debbie made it across the line with all her boxes, but she was moving so slowly that the buzzer went off before she crossed the line so none of her boxes counted. The team did still manage to pull off a win, though, with 58 boxes.

Advantage Not Needed

The next day the Americans went back to Majide for their second game. The game, Wheel of Human Torpedoes,” used four players per team. Each team had a launcher that sat in the middle of a spinning board and three torpedoes that the launcher would launch in hopes of knocking down as many cans on the edge of the board as possible. Whoever knocked down the most cans would win.

The Green Tigers were given an advantage of an extra torpedo, if needed, for winning the previous day, but they were warned if they lost they would have to send someone home.

Kimberly did really well for the Red Robots, knocking down 10 cans, but Dan launched another person before she hit the buzzer, disqualifying her cans. Their final score was five.

The Green Tigers nearly lost because of a zero-point launch, but they pulled out a win getting three cans the first round and five cans the third round.

The Green Tigers were awarded a trip to Mt. Fuji, and the Red Robots were sent to clean the subways. Kimberly annoyed everyone while cleaning by refusing to do the job without a machine because she didn’t want to dirty her nails.

Yari vs. Kimberly

The Red Robots decided to put Kimberly and Yari up for elimination. Their elimination game had them dressed as spiders and attached to a bungee cord. The object was to pop balloons and put the pieces of butterfly in the balloons on the matching butterfly.

Yari had a difficult time with the bungee cord, and she quickly became tired. Her final score was 12.

Kimberly had an easier time with the bungee cord, but she was so frantic she made it hard to match the butterflies. She gave up with about 30 seconds to go but also scored 12.

Yari won because she had the most complete butterflies, and Kimberly went home.
