The final four players complete a full marathon; Jillian and Bob check up on their trainees at home; America set to choose the final member of the final three.
On the May 5, 2009 episode of The Biggest Loser, 715, Tara, Helen, Mike and Ron – the final four – arrived at home to start their final 30 days. Before leaving, the players said they are scared and nervous about leaving campus, but they plan on keeping the same determination and focus they had while there. Biggest Loser Contestants Face The Toughest Challenge EverWhile at home each player received a “The Biggest Loser” box. The box told them they would all be completing a full marathon (26.2 miles) in 26 days. Everyone panicked. They were shocked, to say the least, and they weren’t sure if they would be able to complete it. Ron’s reaction to the marathon was the most surprising. He was so determined to finish, no matter what it took. He never showed a sign of uncertainty or a sign of defeat. Surprise, SurpriseJillian and Bob decided to check up on their trainees Jillian visited Mike first. Mike told her about the marathon, and she almost fell over in shock. Later, Mike told Jillian he is having a hard time balancing himself and helping Max. Jillian believed Max brings up a lot of bad memories for Mike. She advised him to stop worrying about Max for right now. Tara and Helen were thrilled to see Jillian. They were both feeling out of control, and Helen was feeling pressured to be everything for everyone. Jillian told them they need to relax and find a healthy balance. To prove her point, she had a drink with each of them, something that didn’t kill their diets. Bob visited Ron, but he spent most of his time focusing on Max. He trained Max while at the gym, and he taught Max about proper nutrition at home. Ron told Bob about the marathon, and Bob said he didn’t think it was a good idea for Ron to participate. Conquering the Marathon Unlike the last marathon, the four remaining players started this marathon together. Tara and Helen stayed together most of the time, while Ron and Mike spent the beginning together. Mike had been advised not to run, which was very frustrating to him. Throughout the marathon the contestants were joined by friends, family and former “The Biggest Loser” contestants. Helen’s husband joined her, Tara’s friend from home joined her and Max joined his brother and father. Helen’s husband eventually dropped off, and Helen worried she couldn’t do it alone. Not long after that Michelle Aguilar, a former contestant, joined her. Ali Vincent gave Tara an extra push, and Bernie Salazar convinced Mike that it doesn’t matter how he finishes the marathon as long as he finishes it. Tara crossed the finish line first, followed by Helen and Mike. At mile 16 Ron took a break. He was shaking and his blood pressure was elevated. After being full checked out, the doctor said it was his decision to finish or not. He chose to continue, and he picked up several people along the way. It took him 13 hours, but he did finish the marathon. Each player received $10,000 for their favorite charity for completing the marathon. The Final Weigh InAt the final weigh in Ron, Mike and Tara lost 10 pounds. Helen lost seven pounds. Ron and Mike were below the yellow line, but we won’t find out until next time who is the final member of the final three.
