Newlywed Couples Compete for Cash

Another couple is voted off Here Come the Newlyweds after the women compete against each other to find items in a hardware store with directions from their husbands.

The host of Here Come the Newlyweds, Pat Bullard, shook things up with questions for each couple, a tantric educator gave the couples lessons on sexuality, and the couples competed in a communication challenge.

Trip Down Memory Lane

The first challenge was a couple’s challenge in which the couples were each asked questions, and the husband and wife both had to write down their answers to the question. If their answers matched, then they added money to the pot which will be won by one couple at the end of the season. Four of the questions the couples were asked were:

What was the first thing your wife ever bought you?
After you moved in together, what item did you bring into the relationship that your wife couldn’t stand?
How many pairs of shoes does your wife own?
What was the model of her first car?

Out of all the questions asked, there were a total of ten matches and the couples were awarded five thousand dollars for each correct match. They added fifty thousand dollars to the pot for a total of two-hundred and fifteen thousand dollars.

Tantric Educator

The couples attended a sensuality session with a tantric educator to learn techniques to enhance their sexuality. They spent time learning about their breathing and how controlling one’s breathing can help sensuality. The tantric educator encouraged the couples to spoon every morning and night and told them not to focus on things that they don’t like about their partners.

Communication Challenge and Elimination

The couples competed against each other for safety in the elimination round. The wives were given a cell phone and told to go into a hardware store. The husbands were informed that they had to give their wives information about items found in a hardware store, so their wives could find the item without saying the name of the item. The couple with the most items at the end won the challenge. This was the result of the communication challenge:

5th place: McMorrises and Newberys
4th place: Iengs
3rd place: Coxes and Corlisses
2nd place: Hinkins
1st place: Huffmans

Since the Huffmans won the challenge, they were given the option of taking twenty thousand dollars in place of safety during the elimination round. They choose to give the twenty thousand dollars back and keep their immunity. They said they were going to go big or go home.

During the elimination round, each couple had to vote for one couple to leave. The two couples with the most votes were the Coxes and the Corlisses, and ultimately the Coxes were sent home empty handed.
