Here Come the Newlyweds Second Episode

Couples Compete for Cash

Jun 2, 2009 April Bowles

Another couple was voted off Here Come the Newlyweds on the second episode. The couples competed to add money to the pot and to stay safe.

The wives attempted to identify their husbands bottoms, the couples talked about elimination during a barbeque and competed to fill jars of bugs with their hands, and another couple was eliminated from the show.

Bottom Grabbing Challenge

The wives were blindfolded and asked to try to pick their husbands bottoms out of a line up of the husbands. Each wife who guessed correctly added 10,000 dollars to the pot of money. The couples who added money to the pot were the Oskowskis, Iengs, Corlisses, Newberys, and McMorrises. Therefore, the amount of money in the pot increased to 165,000 dollars. The couple who wins the entire challenge will win all the money in the pot.

Dr. Ruth Westheimer

Dr. Ruth, a famous psychosexual therapist, discussed sexual topics with the couples. She said that each woman is different and every woman must teach her husband how to please her. Dr. Ruth encouraged the women to contract and release their vaginal muscles every time they stop at a red light while driving. Bridget Huffman seemed incredibly uncomfortable during the discussion and threatened her husband when he pretended that she had a question. The Hinkins said that the other couples probably thought they were uncomfortable, but they assured the viewers that they just didn’t have any questions for Dr. Ruth.

After the sexual discussion, the couples enjoyed a barbeque. The men worked the grill and the couples discussed the upcoming elimination. Everyone seemed tense about the upcoming challenge and sending a couple home.

Bug Control Challenge

Pat Bullard, the host, reported that this challenge would help the couples learn how to deal with the creepy crawlers in their own homes. He encouraged them to work together to collect as many bugs with only their hands during the specified amount of time. Some of the newlyweds worked together to collect the bugs and some wives refused to touch the insects. Pat Bullard announced the placement of the couples in the challenge:

  • 1st place: Hinkins
  • 2nd place: Coxes
  • 3rd place: McMorrises
  • 4th place: Huffmans
  • 5th place: Newberys
  • 6th place: Oskowskis
  • 7th place: Iengs
  • 8th place: Corlisses

Pat Bullard said the Hinkins would be safe from elimination, because they won the challenge. However, he offered them 15,000 dollars for their safety. After discussing it, the Hinkins decided to give the 15,000 dollars back to Pat and keep their safety during the elimination.

Elimination

Each week on Here Come the Newlyweds the couples vote for the couple they want to go home. Many of the couples seemed conflicted during the elimination. The two couples with the most votes for elimination were the Oskowskis and the Corlisses, and the Oskowskis were sent home. Marlo Corliss reported that she was horrified and embarrassed that they were one of the couples with the most votes.
