Here Come the Newlyweds Season Premiere

First Episode of Here Come the Newlyweds on ABC

The second season of Here Come the Newlyweds recently premiered, and the action-packed episode included a paintball fight and a communication challenge.

The host of Here Come the Newlyweds, Pat Bullard, announced the nine diversified couples on the first episode of the season. The nine couples will compete for a pot of money that began at 100,000 dollars and increases each episode depending on the couples’ performances.

First Impression Challenge

During the first challenge each couple had the opportunity to add 5,000 dollars to the pot of money that will be won at the end by one couple. Each couple was asked one question based on first impressions about the other couples and if they agreed on the answer, they added money to the pot. The nine questions were:

Who has been together the longest?
Which couple do you think you’ll annoy the most?
Which couple do you think has sex the least?
Which couple has completely opposite taste in music from you?
Which couple has the best sex life?
Which couple is the most attractive?
What couple here is your polar opposite?
Which couple do you think laughs together the most?
Which couple do you think fights the most?

Three couples agreed on their answers and added money to the pot. Those three couples were the Smiths, Corlisses, and Coxes. The other six couples did not have the same answer.

Paintball Fight

The men and women participated in a capture the flag battle of the sexes with paintball. The object of the game was to capture the other team’s flag and bring it back to their team’s side without getting hit with a paintball. The losing team had to make the winning team breakfast the next morning. The men won the challenge. When the women cooked the men breakfast the next morning, they added humor by arranging the food into the shape of a man’s genital area.

Teamwork Challenge

The couple’s competed against each other in a teamwork challenge. The men had to strip down to their underwear and try to get dressed with their wives’ guidance. The clothes were scattered all over a room and the women had to help their husbands find the clothes and get dressed. The winners of the challenge, the Smiths, were safe from elimination. However, Pat Bullard, gave the Smiths the option of taking 10,000 dollars instead of safety. The Smiths decided to accept the 10,000 dollars which meant the other couples could vote them off during the elimination.

During the elimination, the Smiths were voted off by the other couples, and the couple with the second most votes was the Oskowskis. Don’t miss next week’s episode of "Here Come the Newlyweds" when the wives are given the challenge of recognizing their husbands’ buttocks while blindfolded and the couples compete against each other to collect bugs with their hands.
