Heidi Rushed to the Hospital on I'm a Celebrity
I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, Episode 5
On the second hour of the June 8, 2009 episode of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, Episode 5, Heidi was rushed to the hospital after becoming violently ill.
Sanjaya the Amazing
Sanjaya is quickly becoming everyone’s favorite jungle boy. He wove Stephen a bracelet, made ink and made a broom to clean up camp so they would see the bullet ants, which are very dangerous.
No one was taking advantage of Sanjaya’s niceness more than Janice. She had him give her massages and get her shoes. John and Daniel said they were done with her, and they complained that she doesn’t do any work. Daniel said he partially blamed the camp for the problem.
Heidi Takes a Turn for the Worse
Heidi woke up feeling fine, but not long in to the day she began vomiting again. Everyone noticed Heidi’s weak appearance, but no one could figure out what was causing the sickness.
Torrie thought her body wasn’t acclimating to the surroundings, but Patti and Lou felt a lot of her issues probably had to do with the fact that she was doing a “spiritual fast” and was barely eating or drinking.
Heidi had been crying and vomiting for a while before they decided to take her to the doctor. Spencer went with her to the clinic, and he went with her when she was taken to the closest hospital.
Heidi was taken to San Jose for a stomach scan. Everyone was concerned, but Janice said it was just another act. Daniel thought Speidi needed to give in because obviously Heidi can’t handle it. He also said he didn’t feel so bad because they made the choice not to eat or drink.
After several tests Heidi was told she may have an ulcer, and they were officially eliminated from the competition. Probably for the best.
Lou Still Leader
Sanjaya, Janice, Torrie and John were group one. Lou, Stephen, Daniel and Patti were group two. The groups competed against the people in their group to see who could finish what was on their plate first. They competed until it was down to one person from each team, and the person who won that challenge was named camp leader.
Group one had to eat caterpillar-like bugs. Janice immediately threw her hands up and said, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” Torrie and John tried but didn’t finish. Sanjaya stuck with it but had a very hard time getting the three bugs down.
Group two had to eat leaf-cutter ants. Everyone in this group tried, but Stephen and Patti gave up.
Sanjaya had to eat a bull’s testicles to make it to the final round. He picked at it for a while, had one bite and gave up.
Lou and Daniel fought for camp leader by eating a stick insect and cow tongue. Lou gave up because he couldn’t kill a bug. Daniel also quit so there was no new leader.
Daniel nominated Lou to stay leader, and everyone agreed. Lou immediately sentenced Janice to dish job.
Janice Sits Out… Again
The second live immunity challenge was a battle of endurance. Janice decided to sit out even though she had just said she really wanted to win.
The challenge was simply hanging on to a bar above his or her head for as long as possible. The second hour was up before anyone dropped, but the audience was given a sneak peek in to an upcoming episode that has Holly Montag, Heidi Pratt’s sister, joining the cast.
