I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, Episode Two

A torture tank winner is named; Angela starts to lose her mind alone in the jungle; Spencer moves closer to God

The June 2, 2009 episode of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, episode two, began with the conclusion of the torture tank from the night before.

Torture Tank Winner Crowned

Most of the contestants made it through the insects, but the addition of water sent some of them running. Patti was freaked out by the sound of the water beginning to enter so she left. Lou and Torrie left when they began to swallow water.

It came down to Sanjaya versus Stephen, and Sanjaya won. When the celebrities returned to camp Sanjaya was surprised to find a beautiful bed he believed was for the winner. The bed ended up being for the leader, Lou, though.

Angela Losing It

Angela is starting to crack under the stress of being alone in the jungle. They showed video of her talking to herself, and she broke down in the confessional after a terrifying trek to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Spencer’s Baptism

Stephen began talking to Spencer about his lack of baptism. Spencer said Heidi has been trying to talk him in to being baptized for years. Heidi said she prays to be like Mother Teresa, and she doesn’t care about her wealth and possessions.

Stephen asked Spencer if he would like him to baptize him in the river, and Spencer said yes. He didn’t seem convinced about God, but he said he once prayed to meet Miley Cyrus, as a sort of test for God, and his prayers were answered, so maybe he’ll be turned in to a believe after all.

Heidi v. Spencer

Heidi and Spencer were chosen to compete against one another in the food challenge. Sanjaya was the original choice, but Spencer wouldn’t let another man go in to the woods with his wife.

To win the challenge the celebrities had to go in to a pitch black stone room full of spiders, snakes, rats, bats and more.

Spencer went in first. He was horrified by his surrounding, and early on he screamed “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here,” which is the forfeit call. The hosts went to open the door, and Spencer said he was just kidding. He only collected two stars.

Heidi did much better than her husband. She barely screamed, and she didn’t seem too afraid of her surroundings. Unfortunately, she only collected one star.

When the pair returned to camp Spencer told the group Heidi and he were finished. He said it wasn’t that he couldn’t handle it, he just didn’t want to.

Heidi and Spencer Out

Heidi and Spencer decided it was finally time for them to leave. Spencer said he and Heidi are the most famous people in the world, and he doesn’t need to eat bugs to prove he is a celebrity, as the others do. The celebrities didn’t really believe them, but the couple did pack their stuff, say their goodbyes and walk away. Everyone was pretty happy to see them really gone.

Council

At council the men chose to save Patti. Now it is up to America which woman goes home so start voting now! (www.nbc.com)
