Heidi crashes Lauren's surprise birthday party. Heidi and Lauren begin to work things out. Spencer gets caught flirting. Heidi flies to Colorado to think things out.

Tonight was the season five premiere of The Hills. The drama was up as usual, but this time it was between Heidi and Spencer instead of Heidi and Lauren. In fact, it looks like we may be seeing a Heidi and Lauren reunion in the near future.

“Don’t Cry on Your Birthday”

Lo planned a surprise birthday party for Lauren, and Stephanie told Heidi about it. Heidi was surprised that Lo or Audrina didn’t invite her because Heidi and Lauren have been texting, but Stephanie said it would probably be OK if she came.

Spencer spent the night with a friend at a bar. While there Stephanie’s ex-boyfriend showed up with his friends. Spencer stumbled over to say hello and mentioned that the bartender, Stacie, was part of his “guy’s night out.” Spencer then went back to the bar and asked Stacie what it would take to get her dancing on the bar.

When Heidi arrived at the party Lauren was shocked. She immediately went over to Stephanie and Lo and asked who invited her. Stephanie said she wanted Lauren to see that Heidi is her own person. Off to the side Lo told Heidi that she really can’t be with Spencer and Lauren, so she needs to move on. She didn’t say it as mean as it sounds though.

At the party Stephanie received a text from her ex about the bartender. Stephanie told Heidi, and Heidi called Spencer to question him about the text. By this point Spencer was noticeably buzzed, so it was no surprise that he went to Stephanie’s ex. He threw the first punch, but Stephanie’s ex threw back. The pair’s fight lasted about 3.5 seconds, and when Heidi found out she couldn’t stop talking about. Lauren tried to comfort her, but the conversation turned to her and Heidi’s issues. There were tears, honest feelings and admittance from Lauren that she still loves Heidi. It appears that they may be working things out this season.

“Everything Happens for a Reason”

Spencer was outraged with Stephanie for breaking the “loyalty” of their family and telling Heidi about the text. He then told her to stay away from Heidi.

At the house Lauren told Lo and Audrina that she didn’t love the boat situation, partially because she was trapped on a boat with someone she didn’t want to see.

Heidi confronted Stacie, the bartender, about Spencer. Stacie told her about the dancing question and his flirting, and Heidi was shocked. She definitely wasn’t as shocked as Spencer was though when he found out Heidi talked to Stacie. Spencer denied everything he did, and he turned it in to Heidi not trusting him.

Heidi went to Colorado to think about things. She told her mom about Lauren’s birthday and Spencer’s fight. At dinner that night Heidi ran in to her ex-boyfriend, and her parents desperately tried to sell Heidi on how great the guy had turned out – has his own business, going to school, great athlete, etc.

Stephanie told Lauren that Heidi invited herself, and Stephanie couldn’t understand why it wasn’t OK she was there.

Spencer and Brody met up after Spencer asked him to. Spencer explained the Heidi situation, and Brody told him to go out and enjoy being young.

Heidi’s mother told her she spends too much time with Spencer in L.A., and Heidi admitted she is happy they didn’t get married.

Spencer went back to the bar and had more tequila shots with Stacie and his friend. She was definitely flirting with him.
