DWTS Shocked by Elimination of Lil' Kim
Dancing with the Stars, 809A
On the May 5, 2009 episode of Dancing with the Stars, 809A, the professional dancers’ competition continued. This week the dancers were paired with a celebrity not already in the competition to showcase their teaching ability. Also, the Macy’s Stars of Dance and Jamie Cullum performed.

Kenny Mayne and Jerry Rice talked us through the week on DanceCenter. They were hilarious, and Len Goodman joined them. The trio had good and bad things to say about the couple. They loved that Ty Murray gives 110 percent, but Len said he needs to loosen up. Len said Lil’ Kim “is the ultimate performer.” Her rear end was of course brought up, and Len said if she has it she should flaunt it. They had more to say about Mark’s odd facial expression than about Shawn Johnson’s performances. Kenny and Jerry picked on Tony for bullying Melissa during her injury. They added that they thought Melissa’s dress rehearsal Jive was the best dance of the season. They acknowledge Gilles Marini as a favorite to win, and Len admitted his sex appeal hinders him sometimes.
The Professionals Compete
The professional dancer competition continued, and this time the professional was given a celebrity to work with. Afton Delgroso danced with Hannah Montana’s Cody Linley. The crowd really seemed to like them, and they gave the couple a standing ovation. Len thought Afton did a great job teaching the celebrity. Bruno was impressed with the way Afton was able to get Cody to sell himself. Carrie Ann thinks Afton would bring a bright, youthful energy to the show if chosen.
The second professional dancer to compete was Mayo Alanen. He competed with Lisa Renna. Mayo looks odd with anyone because he is so tall, but sometimes he looks like he is hunching over because of the difference in height between him and his partner. Bruno liked that Mayo brought back Lisa’s sexy side. Carrie Ann thought Mayo was understated. Len was happy to see Mayo pushing the boundaries.
Last in the professional competition was Anna Demidova and her celebrity partner Maurice Green. Maurice chose a dance he didn’t know on purpose so he could show off Anna’s teaching abilities. His plan worked, and the pair did a wonderful tango. Carrie Ann thought Anna did a wonderful job teaching. Bruno called her a miracle worker. Bruno thought she did the best job bringing out the best in her partner.
The Elimination of Lil' Kim
Lil’ Kim and Derek were eliminated this week. The crowd looked shocked and several “boos” could be heard throughout the audience.
Gilles and Cheryl were the first couple announced safe. Melissa and Tony followed them, and the third semi-finalist couple was Ty Murray and Chelsie.
