The final part of the Dancing with the Stars season premiere finally happened on Wednesday night, with two of the celebrities given their walking papers.

Dancing with the Stars had its first elimination night on Wednesday, where two of the celebrities were sent home. It wasn’t just a night two eliminate two of the contestants though, as this was a night to celebrate the work of Patrick Swayze in a fun tribute that involved many of the show’s professional dancers. This was part three of the Dancing with the Stars season premiere, bringing to an end the first week of the competition.

Dancing with the Stars Season Nine Episode Three

Four hours of Dancing with the Stars had already been shown this week before the elimination show came along, and that gave fans plenty of time to get to know the 16 contestants competing this season on the show. It sure seemed like there was a lot more dancing in this show than on the previous two combined though, as they packed several guest appearances and one of the judge’s selections from the previous two nights to add to the festivities.

One of the performances was Sean Kingston who was there to perform with the cast of The Lion King. The audience loved this performance, and it was interesting to see it on the Dancing with the Stars stage. The night also featured the premiere of the new Miley Cyrus music video for her song Party in the USA, but they didn’t stop there. Adam Carolla, a past contestant came by for a visit, and then finally they worked their way to the final performance where the professional dancers took to the stage to honor Patrick Swayze and some of his best dance moves.

Dancing with the Stars Judge’s Choice

On each of the elimination shows during the season, the three judges choose a performance that one of the couples has done during the week, and asks them to perform it again on elimination night. It can be viewed as a “best of the week” performance, but they don’t always necessarily choose the highest scoring dance. Their choice this week was a Viennese Waltz that celebrity singer Kelly Osbourne and partner Louis Van Amstel performed on Tuesday. They looked good again, and the crowd loved it just as much as they had before.

The First Dancing with the Stars Elimination

The 16 contestants were split up into groups of men and women during the week, and that meant that both one woman and one man would be going home on the first elimination night. In order to figure out who was going home, the judge’s scores were combined with the fan voting, leaving the dancers ranked from highest to lowest. The two celebrities that received the lowest scores of the week were Ashley Hamilton and Macy Gray, bringing to an end their time on Dancing with the Stars.

The Next Episode of Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars returns again next Monday, September 28th, when the celebrities will begin performing their next dances.
