It takes exposure to gain fame and on this week's episode of Confessions of a Teen Idol, producer Jason Hervey sends the cast to a paparazzi hotspot on Robertson Blvd.
In last week’s episode of the VH1 reality series, Confessions of a Teen Idol, seven former stars reflected on their past as they toured Hollywood. This week’s episode will be missing one of the cast members, as Christopher Atkins (The Blue Lagoon) heads off to Connecticut to celebrate his sister’s wedding. The rest of the cast waits at home to find out what challenges are in store for them next. Teen Idols Around the HouseEric Nies (The Real World) is once again stunning the other men with his unusual alternative healthcare practices . This week, he explains to Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch) that his hair is so shiny because of urine therapy. Elsewhere in the house, David Chokachi (Baywatch) decides to Google all the house members. He doesn’t get far, as his search for Jeremy turns up a scandalous videotape and leads to a discussion about using the internet as a branding tool. Walking Down Paparazzi AlleyThe fax machine rings and a new call sheet arrives at the house, informing the celebrities that they will be heading to Robertson and 3rd. While some of the guys think that means shopping, Jeremy Jackson quickly realizes that it will be a paparazzi challenge. Adrian Zmed (T.J. Hooker) is not looking forward to putting himself into the public eye. When they arrive, producer Jason Hervey is waiting for them. Each idol will take a turn walking down the street and doing whatever it takes to attract the photographers. The Baywatch boys don’t have to do much to attract the attention of the paparazzi, especially Jeremy, who faces questions about his sobriety and career. Others decide to take unique tactics, such as Eric Nies who holds up a cardboard sign asking people to donate to fight child hunger. Adrian decided not to try and attract attention, and walked down the street without any photos. Talking to Cooper Lawrence and Scott BaioAfter the challenge, Jeremy Jackson felt negatively about his past and tried to zone out. Adrian Zmed went to visit a friend and figure out what he wanted to do. Once again the fax rang, and signaled a meeting behind the big black doors with celebrity therapist Cooper Lawrence. She showed them video of the paparazzi discussing the stars after they left. The message Cooper tried to impart to the idols was that they don’t have to act like idiots to get their face into the public. Of the six idols, four of their photographs were bought by US Weekly - Billy Hufsey (Fame), Eric Nies, Jeremy, and David Chokachi. However, at their last production meeting it was decided that only one photograph would run. The photograph of Eric with a handwritten cardboard sign made it into the magazine, affording him more publicity for whatever causes he wishes to support. After the therapy session, producer Scott Baio stopped by the house and had a conversation with Adrian about his doubts. He voiced concern about continuing on the show, but once again Scott managed to explain what they are trying to accomplish in the house. The Teen Idol Variety ShowWith so many negative feelings, Jason Hervey arrived to help rekindle the stars love of performing. They were challenged to put on a show for underprivileged children from the organization L.A.’s Best. Jamie Walters (Beverly Hills, 90210) invited his wife and children to the house for the day as well, since he was feeling homesick. Since they only had 24 hours to prepare for the show, they decided to do a variety performance with everyone playing an exaggerated version of themselves. The kids had a blast and so did all the teen idols. Stay tuned for more Celebreality with next week’s episode of Confessions of a Teen Idol, where one idol may be pushed too far.
