This week on The Amazing Race the teams traveled to Russia to drive snow plows, to deliver a bride to her groom and to run naked through the streets.
The Amazing Race, "She's a Little Scared of Stick, But I Think She'll Be OK"
Christie and Jodi departed for the next leg of the race first. Their first step of the day was to take the Trans-Siberian Railway to Novosibirsk, Russia. At the Punkt Tehnicheskogo Osmotra they found their next clue. Kisha and Jen were the second team to leave, but they caught up with Christie and Jodi quickly. Unfortunately for both teams, but fortunately for the teams behind them, the only train leaving the area didn’t leave for another 10 hours. The ride went through the night, which gave the teams a chance to catch a good night’s sleep.
Mel and Mike have been watching Margie and Luke, and they have realized that they are the powerhouse. They know that if they want to stick around, it won’t hurt to sidle up to Margie and Luke.
When everyone got off the train, all the teams go one way while Kisha and Jen go the other way. This put them behind the pack, which upset Jen because she feels they should follow the pack.
Cara and Jaime and Margie and Luke were the first to reach the clue box, which held a detour. The teams had to either find a Russian bride and drive her to her groom or complete an obstacle course with a snow plow. Tammy and Victor arrived next, and everyone chose the snow plow. When the groups stopped to ask for directions, Victor left everyone in the dust. Both teams were able to catch up though.
Christie and Jodi, Kisha and Jen and Mel and Mike chose Russian bride. Michael and Mark chose snow plow. Mel and Mike were the first to find their bride, but they had trouble finding the church. Kisha and Jen and Christie and Jodi found their brides at the same time, but both teams had trouble finding the correct church.
After the detour the teams were told to go to the largest library in Siberia for their next clue. Tammy and Victor left first, but Cara and Jaime and Margie and Luke were not far behind. At the library the teams learned they would have to complete a roadblock before reaching the pit stop, the Novosibirsk Theater. The roadblock had one team member running a common winter marathon in his or her underwear. The remaining team member followed them in a taxi.
Luke, Tammy, Cara, Mike, Jen and Jodi decided to run the race. Margie and Luke arrived at the pit stop first, winning a trip to St. Lucia. Tammy and Victor were team number two, followed by Cara and Jaime, Mel and Mike, Michael and Mark and Kisha and Jen. Christie and Jodi arrived last, but they were not eliminated. As a consequence for being last the team will have to complete a speed bump later on.
