The final four models dance to a new beat; Tyra takes the girls to the jungle for their photo shoot

On the May 6, 2009 episode of America’s Next Top Model, Take Me to the Jungle, the final four models competed in a jungle-themed photo shoot. The models posed as an exotic bird, and Tyra Banks shot their photographs.

Feel the Beat

The models went to a dance studio where they perfected their poise and coordination through samba dance lessons. Allison was very worried because she said she can’t dance, but she wasn’t the only one that had trouble catching on.

Paulina Porizkova had the girls practice the dance with a partner, and she asked them to focus on their facial expressions. Celia was stiff, and Paulina told her she overdid it and looked very desperate. Aminat did a great job with the dance, and Paulina thought she looked confident. Allison looked scared and confused. Paulina expected Teyona to be graceful, but Teyona was very clumsy, and she looked down a lot.

The next day the models competed in a dance competition. Paulina said Allison was like a wind-up doll that needed oil. She thought Celia finally looked relaxed. Aminat did very well with her samba, and she looked good with her partner. Paulina thought Teyona looked awkward and uncomfortable. Celia was named the winner, and she won $7,000 worth of jewelry, which she chose to share with Allison. Aminat was shocked Celia won and felt she should have taken the prize.

Rise and Smile

The models were woken up very early the next morning for their photo shoot. There hair and makeup was done in the hotel room, and they met up with Tyra in a jungle two hours outside the city. Tyra surprised them with the news she would be photographing the girls today.

The girls were done up in a wild way for this photo shoot. Their hair was teased and feathers were added so they would resemble exotic birds in a gigantic nest.

Allison said she felt good having Tyra shoot her, and Jay admitted it was the least nervous he had seen her at a photo shoot. Tyra said Aminat had nice body movements, but the light hit her face in a less than appealing way. Tyra said she wasn’t very excited to shoot Celia, but she brought a freshness to the shoot. After the shoot Tyra told Celia she did a fantastic job. Teyona proved herself by showing she could disconnect from the discomfort her body was feeling and shoot beautiful photos.

Judges’ Deliberation

To the contestants the judges said Allison looked sweet and vulnerable but also elegant and stunning. Tyra told Allison she made her very proud. Teyona was told her face and body were gorgeous, but Nigel said her top looked boxy. The judges said Celia looked strong and beautiful but old. Finally, Aminat was told all her parts did the right thing, but Paulina didn’t like the photo.

Elimination

Aminat and Celia were in the bottom two this week. Aminat was told sometimes her face just doesn’t photograph well. Celia was told her face was too “mature.”

Celia was eliminated.
