As winner of the challenge last week, Vinnie Pastore presents his ex-wife with a $50,000 check for her charity, the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (Mitchell Berke Memorial).
Later, members of Empresario and Hydra meet Donald Trump and the executives from Crocs, Inc. to discuss the latest challenge. The teams are to create a receptacle for bringing in old Crocs and recycling them for impoverished countries.
Trump asks Carol Alt, targeted by her team of late as a weak link, to be the project manager for Empresario. Piers Morgan, the strong personality and outspoken leader of Hydra, acts as lead for the opposition.
Hydra is focused on brand messaging and creativity, and decides once again to use Lennox Lewis as their spokesperson. Trace Adkins comes up with the tagline, “Wear them, share them.” As they brainstorm, Pastore gets up and wanders to the window. He sees someone walk past and thinks it’s one of the women from Empresario.
Morgan, already annoyed with Pastore, tells him to go spy on the girls. Morgan feels Pastore is a weak link and in sending him over to the other team hopes to keep Pastore out of Hydra’s progress while also causing disruption for Empresario.
Morgan and Pastore stage a fake fight where Pastore comes to the door of Empresario looking sad and dejected. Omarosa immediately feels sorry for him and tells the girls to hire him. Alt reluctantly agrees with the rest of her team, and invites Pastore into their meeting.
Upon entering, however, Pastore begins giving the girls ideas and even suggests Alt be the spokesperson for their campaign. Pastore, rather than spying on Empresario, finds himself in the role of double agent and actually begins working for the ladies.
Pastore, however, still decides to give Hydra some information on Empresario’s project idea. He writes up their slogan and other notes from Empresario’s brainstorming session, rolls the paper up in a tube, and slides it over to Stephen Baldwin down the hall.
Baldwin has a change of heart, and calls Lewis over to pick it up. Morgan thinks Baldwin is being a hypocrite since he was in on the scheme and now seems to want nothing to do with it.
In a side moment with Marilu Henner, Pastore admits that he originally came over to the women’s team as a spy, but he’s had a change of heart. He has Henner promise not to tell the other women. Henner goes along with it but remains unsure what to believe.
Ivanka Trump visits Hydra and learns of their attempt at corporate espionage. Ms. Trump is surprised by the fact that the women actually fell for it, especially Omarosa, saying, “This is right out of the Omarosa playbook.” She then admits her opinion of sabotage “is okay” if you can pull it off.
Trace Adkins also begins having second thoughts about sending Pastore over to the other team. Baldwin talks to Morgan about God and Morgan tells him he’s a believer and a Roman Catholic. Morgan then tells Baldwin he’s again being a hypocrite.
Morgan, in an effort to rub it in, lets the women know his team is well aware of their campaign. The women then figure out it must have been Pastore who shared their secrets.
Pastore is upset that Morgan blew his cover, even though he had already “flipped” and ended up on the girl’s team. Pastore and Morgan fight, and Morgan fires him from Team Hydra. Pastore leaves and sees Donald Trump in the hallway. He tries to explain what’s happening and Trump advises him to leave it for the boardroom.
Later, both teams present their ideas to the Crocs executives. Hydra’s slogan is great but the design of their receptacle is rather mundane. Empresario created an interesting receptacle based on a Crocs shoe, but the executives feel it could be costly to reproduce. They do like Empresario’s use of flyers and tee shirts, however.
In the boardroom, Trump asks Pastore to explain what happened between him and Morgan. As the truth of Pastore’s double agent status is revealed, Morgan says he would not trust him again and the women of Empresario say they feel sorry for him. Trump then reveals that Empresario won the challenge. Pastore resigns.
As Pastore is shown leaving the building, Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” plays in the background and the screen suddenly goes black for several seconds, mimicking the famous end of The Sopranos series.
Next week: The teams work on a Vera Wang campaign.
