A third challenge is added to the competition; The superstars compete in a jet ski race, an archery challenge and a speed climb

On the July 21, 2009 episode of The Superstars, 105, the teams learned they would now have to compete in a third challenge each episode.

Bode/Paige Start Strong

The first challenge was an obstacle course race on jet skis. The players raced one at a time and had to stay in between the buoys.

Paige and Brandi faced off first. Paige led the whole time and was first to pass the key to her teammate. Brandi got off the jet ski to early and had a hard time getting through the water to shore. Julio tripped going in to the water, putting them further behind. Bode/Paige won the heat.

David and Maks started the second heat. David had the early lead, and he kept his lead strong the entire time. Lisa had trouble starting the jet ski, giving Kristi time to catch up. Kristi/Maks won the round, sending them to the winners round.

Maks had a little trouble in his winners round. He fumbled with the speed, and Kristi couldn’t make up the slack. Bode/Paige took first place.

Hitting the Target

The second challenge was an archery challenge. The teams had five arrows, and the team with the highest score would win.

Brandi/Julio tried, and failed, to hit eight twice. With their last three arrows they made it a little easier for themselves by trying to hit circle six. Their final score was 18. Kristi was a star for her team. She hit circle six five times in a row for a final score of 30. The remaining women followed suit and managed to hit most of their targets, putting Brandi last.

The men were also addicted to circle six. It seemed to be the safe and easy route. Lisa/David decided to play it safe because there was a third competition. Based on the other players’ scores Julio had to try to hit five eights. He had no problem hitting the targets and putting them in first.

Climbing for Safety

The third challenge was a 36-foot wall climb. The teams raced each other – one player going up first, the second player climbing when the first player reached the top.

Maks was really worried about the height, but he had no problem zipping up the wall. Kristi was finished only seconds after Lisa singled David to go, winning the first heat.

Bode/Paige were in the lead during the second heat, but Julio moved incredibly fast once signaled. It was practically a photo finish, but Brandi/Julio finished half a second sooner.

During the winners’ heat Maks once again had no problem getting to the top. He signaled, and Kristi was able to get to the top and hit the finished buzzer before Brandi could signal Julio to go.

Elimination Obstacle Course

The rubber match forced the Brandi/Julio and Bode/Paige to hit the smallest archery circle. Everyone missed it the first round, but Bode hit the second round, sending them to the final episode.

Brandi zipped through the obstacle course during the first heat, giving Julio a large lead. Julio tripped at one point but still kept his lead. Soon David was right next to him. Julio did end up crossing the finish line first, though.

Brandi had the lead in the beginning of the second heat, but Brandi got caught in the net and tripped over something. Lisa finished first, giving David a good lead. Julio is fast, but there was no way he was going to catch David. David badly injured his wrist during this heat.

The sudden death heat was close, but Lisa/David won, sending Brandi/Julio home.
