For millions of Americans, Super Bowl parties mean snack food and lots of it. The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 contestants face Super Bowl themed challenges instead.

NBC’s hit reality program The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 begins as the contestants face the fallout of the elimination ceremony from last week’s episode. Though Jillian Michael’s team said they would vote for Joelle, Damian left the Biggest Loser Ranch because he was a bigger threat. Bob Harper’s team is angry that the other team lied about who they wanted to vote for. Bob gives the team a pep talk to get them focused on bringing back the at-home contestants this week.

Super Bowl Snack Reward Challenge

It is Super Bowl week at the Biggest Loser Ranch, and the first competition that the players face is snack food themed. Three items of food will be displayed and each player will guess how many calories are in it. The person who gets the closet without going over will move on to the next round. However, one person will not be playing. The black team’s Blaine will be heading home to be with his wife as she gives birth to their fourth child. He will return in time for the weigh-in, but will have to stick to the plan on his own.

Dan, Kristin, and Helen each guess an item correctly. Chef Curtis Stone helps the contestants learn to make a healthier version of chicken wings that still has great flavor. After cooking the recipe, the players have to guess the calories in the new dish. As the winner, Dan has won prizes for his teammate, David. Chef Stone will visit David at home and teach him to cook. Plus, David will have a two-pound pass when he returns to the Ranch. David doesn’t know how to cook, so the visit teaches him that eating healthy can be easy and affordable.

Immunity Challenge

Dressed in football jerseys, the players compete in this week’s immunity challenge. Immunity means that their at-home teammates will definitely come back to the Ranch. The contestants meet NFL quarterback Kurt Warner who praises their commitment to the process. Each contestant has a bin, and when opponents get five footballs in it they are out. The strongest players are targeted first, with Tara, Filipe, and Dane quickly out. The pink team’s Helen wins the challenge, guaranteeing her daughter Shannon a spot in the competition.

Reuniting with Teammates

The contestants get through their last chance workout focused on bringing their teammates back to the Biggest Loser Ranch. The fates of two players will be determined by this weigh-in ceremony. As the players face the giant scales, each of their teammates enter. Everyone is excited to see each other after the month-long break.

Weigh-In and Elimination Ceremony

The returning players will not step on the scales until the next day, but the weigh-in must still go on. Sadly, the orange team (Dan) and the brown team (Mike and Ron) fall below the yellow line. Mike and Dan are the two youngest players on the Ranch, and both deeply need to be there. Ron begs the rest of the contestants to save Mike, while David expresses that his heart is not really in the game. Ultimately, the votes are split down team lines. Having one less team, Jillian’s team is at a disadvantage and Dan and David are sent home.

The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 airs Tuesday nights at 8 PM on NBC. Next week, the at-home players will get their turn on the giant scale to see if they stuck to the program away from the Ranch.
