After a week in the Big Brother house, the house guests are starting to create some drama, with some of it exposed on the second episode of the season.
The second episode of Big Brother 11 kicked off with the revelation to the house guests that former Big Brother contestant Jessie was rejoining the group as a member of the Athletes clique. Many were excited about Jessie being in the house, but several other members weren't so sure about the new house guest. Big Brother episode two was shown on Sunday, July 12th, but it is important to also keep in mind that the house guests had already been in the house a week before the Sunday show footage was shown to the public. The summary of episode one can be read here to find out where Big Brother is headed this season. The Head of Household RoomJessie was awarded with the first HOH (Head of Household) for the season, and the house guests were quite impressed with the room that he received as a reward. It also gave the rest of the house a look at what could be in store for the rest of the season. The Big Brother Cliques Begin to Talk As soon as the first challenge had been completed, the cliques started discussing strategies on how things were going to work, and the house started sorting itself into friends and enemies quite quickly. The Sunday episode of Big Brother also finally allowed the house guests to give their diary room interviews on the thoughts they had in the house. Big Brother Alliances Form The first major alliance of Big Brother 11 was set up between Ronnie of the Brains clique and Jessie of the Athletes clique, where Ronnie proposed that his clique team up with Jessie's. Jessie agreed, and as long as they kept it between them, they would have an agreement. It left Ronnie with the initial impression that Jessie would stick to his word and protect his clique from the nominations. A meeting took place later between Ronnie, Chima, Natalie and Jessie discussing putting up one of the Brains as a pawn. Nothing is ever as it seems when a pawn is put into place though, and that became clear later. In other areas, Lydia tried to get close to Jessie, which seemed to work at first, but it also appeared that Jessie was using Lydia during the episode. When Jessie met with Russell and Natalie from his clique, they came to a decision on who would go home, and who would be the pawn from the Brains team as agreed upon earlier. Big Brother Food Competition The Big Brother food competition was changed this season to a “have or have not” style, with the loser in store for some terrible living conditions for the following week. The cliques were playing as teams, and as Jessie was head of household, the Athletes were spared having to compete for food this week. The point of the competition was to put a set of pipes together to get liquid to spin a wheel, and each clique was racing to see who could do it the fastest. Surprisingly, the Brains started having the most problems getting their pipes connected, and that allowed the other teams to do very well. In the end, it was the Offbeats that won the challenge, with the Popular clique coming in second, and the Brains just flat out embarrassing themselves. For becoming the “have nots” the Brains can only take cold showers, can only eat slop, and must sleep in the uncomfortable “have not” room for the full week. It also seemed to cause a breakdown in Chima, who really didn’t take losing very well. Big Brother 11 Nominations Jessie nominated Chima and Lydia to go home this week, and they will be the two players on the block pending the veto competition and veto ceremony to be aired on the Tuesday episode of Big Brother 11. Not everyone in the Big Brother 11 house is happy as a result of these nominations; especially Lydia Big Brother Spoilers Reading ahead may spoil something that viewers of the CBS show don't know already, so don't continue unless you want to know more. Right after the head of household was decided, and also after the nomination ceremony, the power of veto competition has already taken place. Russell won the power of veto and can now select to take someone off of the block. Big Brother Schedule Update In summer 2009 on CBS, the Big Brother 11 schedule will provide new episodes on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday on CBS. The Big Brother 11 season will be shown at 8pm on Sundays, 9pm on Tuesdays, and 8pm on Thursdays.
