Big Brother Episode 9 Recap from July 28th Telecast
On Episode 8 of Big Brother 11, Jessie put Michele and Jordan on the block after he won the head of household competition. This came as a surprise to quite a few of the houseguests, who had assumed that Ronnie was going to be the target after he was caught in a number of lies. The house seemed divided all over again, as half had thought that Ronnie should go home, and the other half had decided that there was no real reason to vote out Ronnie. Casey put an understated threat out there that Jessie would put a target on his back if Ronnie didn’t go up, and when he didn’t, Jessie started to hear through the grapevine that something was up.
The Athletes clique has continued to run the Big Brother 11 house, and this was the second time that Jessie had been able to be the head of household this season. The Athletes clique of Jessie, Russell, Natalie, and Jeff are very powerful in the house, and it seems like this group is just running through the house picking off people one by one. Week three in the Big Brother 11 house is going to prove to be no different, as Jessie with the head of household title, and his clique having safety means they will stay four strong at least until the next week in the house.
Big Brother 11 Secrets
Jessie began meeting with everyone in the house, gauging their interest level in sending Ronnie home, and playing it up that he was sending Ronnie home if he got the chance to backdoor him. At the same time, Jessie was meeting with his alliance members, convincing them that there was no reason to send Ronnie home, just because some other people didn’t like him. He felt safe with Ronnie, and that was really all that mattered to Jessie and Natalie. Meanwhile bubbling beneath the surface was Lydia getting very upset with Natalie and Jessie spending time together.
Big Brother 11 Power of Veto Competition
The Big Brother power of veto competition was a chance for Michele or Jordan to win the chance to take themselves off the block, and both wanted very much to make that happen this week. As the two nominees in the house they are automatically in the competition, along with the head of household, and three people that are randomly chosen. Jessie picked Jeff out of the bag, Michele picked Casey, and Jordan picked Chima. That set the stage for an interesting power of veto competition, for which Jessie chose Natalie to host, again upsetting Lydia in that love triangle.
For the power of veto competition, all of the houseguests had to dress up in pig outfits, and were shown a mud pit in the back of the yard. In the mess of the backyard, the object was to retrieve blocks that represented truffles in the pit. The truffles each had point values, unless they had prizes in them, so the highest point value in the truffles would win (points ranging 1 to 10) with the “carrot” being that people could choose to take home prizes rather than points if they chose the risky route.
To add a wrinkle, there were secret envelopes that players could elect to gamble with; some of them having point increases, some decreases, and some with surprises. Jessie chose a $2500 prize, and also scored 26 points. He also added 5 points to his score with an envelope (giving him 31). Jordan scored 24 points, Jeff scored 27 points but lost 5 envelop points giving him 22 total, and then Chima scored 25 points. Casey scored 22 points and a margarita party for the house, but his envelope had a “banana suite for one week” card, meaning he had to wear the suit for a week.
The last player to count her points was Michele, who scored 28 points, and her envelope gave her 7 more points to give Michele the power of veto win.
Big Brother Veto Ceremony
The first part of the Big Brother veto ceremony was pretty obvious, as Michele took herself off the block after having won the power of veto competition. That meant that Jessie would have to put up a new nominee, and Jessie chose to put up Casey for eviction.
Next Episode of Big Brother 11
The next episode of Big Brother 11 will be at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 28th. The episode will have the next Big Brother 11 eviction ceremony and the new head of household competition. This will be the episode where the houseguests decide whether to vote out Casey or Jordan.
