Big Brother Episode 14 Recap from August 9th Telecast

Aug 10, 2009 Ryan Gamble

The 14th episode of Big Brother 11 focused on who the new head of household (Chima) was set to select as the two house nominees as the show worked towards nomination day.

With the eviction of Ronnie after Russell was head of household (by a vote of 4 to 3) the house showed that it was divided to a certain extent. The mystery power was assigned to Jeff in the house as well, meaning that he could change the new head of households nominations once at some point in the next two weeks. The house then had the head of household competition, which Chima won, leaving her in control of the Big Brother house and the selection of two people at the Big Brother nomination ceremony.

The Big Brother 11 Mystery Power

The mystery power was assigned by Big Brother, with Jeff chosen in America’s Vote in the Coupe D’etat selection. The house began discussing what the power would entail, calling it by the house name: the wizard power. Some house guests seem to not fear the power at all, but in his diary room statements, Jeff has noted that he plans on using the wizard power when he gets his shot. This could definitely make it a very interesting week in the Big Brother house.

Big Brother 11 House Drama

Chima told a story about something in her past, stating that she was attacked by a serial killer when she was younger and had to go through several surgeries to try and recover physically. She talked with Jeff, Kevin, and Michele about this event, and they all seemed to have a lot of sympathy and respect for what she had gone through.

Russell and Chima sat down to chat about the fight that they had the prior week in the Big Brother house, with Russell trying to apologize for what happened, and Chima not sure if she could believe what he had to say. It became pretty obvious that he was only having this conversation to try and avoid being one of Chima’s choices to go to the block at the nomination ceremony.

Meanwhile Jordan and Jeff continued having fun together as Big Brother 11’s main “couple” in the house. They had fun discussing how spiders make their webs, who might have the “wizard power” in the house, and who might be selected for nominations this week, with Jordan fearing she was going back on the block.

Big Brother 11 Luxury Competition

A doorbell rang, and when the houseguests ran to answer the front door, it turned out that Jeremy Piven was standing behind the door. Jeremy Piven is most recognizable as one of the stars of HBO’s Entourage. He was there however, to promote his new movie The Goods, and host a luxury competition for the house guests. The winning team was going to get to watch his movie, with one member of the winning team even receiving a special prize.

Going to the back yard, the house guests were greeted with an interesting mess of objects; each of them assigned a specific point value. Two teams of four were selected with Jeff, Lydia, Kevin, and Michele on one side, and Jordan, Russell, Natalie, Jessie, and on the second team. The object of the challenge became packing a car with items that were each assigned specific values, and the group that was able to pack the highest point value into their car would win the challenge.

Each team was given a station wagon to pack the items into, and when the bell rang, all of the house guests began running around finding items of high value to pack into the car. The hardest part seemed to be actually getting the house guests back into the car after they packed it. The challenge was set to last five minutes in duration. It was a chaotic blur, but at the end of the five minutes, with the Jeff led team scoring 399 points, and the Jordan led team scoring 410 points.

That meant that Jordan, Russell, Natalie, and Jessie won the luxury competition and the movie screening.

Each player from the winning team and Chima also got a mystery envelope giving a cash check to the biggest envelope contents. Russell won $10,000.

The Big Brother 11 Nomination Ceremony

It was Chima’s job as head of household this week to select the two house guests to nominate for eviction, and Chima nominated Russell and Lydia for eviction.
