The fifth episode of Big Brother 11 was the second Big Brother nomination ceremony of the season, and marked the first episode with Ronnie as the head of household.
The Sunday, July 19th, 2009 installment of Big Brother 11 was the first episode since Ronnie became head of household after winning the head of household competition on episode four. Braden was sent home at the end of the previous episode, when a tie vote left it up to the head of household to break the tie. Jessie chose to save Chima and send Braden packing. The vote shocked most of the house, because many had thought that Chima was going to lose 6-4, and it made for an interesting first Big Brother 11 eviction ceremony. They didn't anticipate that Ronnie would change his vote and vote for Braden to go home. Now the mystery abounds as to who switched their vote, and Ronnie is trying to act like it wasn't him. Big Brother 11 Drama The drama in the Big Brother house started out as soon as players realized that they had been duped by someone in the house. Casey, Jordan, and Michele suddenly found themselves on the wrong end of the equation, having shown their hand at trying to vote out Chima, but getting left in the cold when Ronnie switched his vote in the diary room. Chima was ecstatic to have been able to save herself, and the tension was really bad for the first few moments after the eviction ceremony. Ronnie immediately began passing around possible names of people that could have switched their vote, with Michele being the player he planned to "throw under the bus." The win by Ronnie also made Jessie extremely happy, because he felt very safe being in a secret alliance with Ronnie up to this point. The unfortunate part for some of the other houseguests was that they also felt that they had an alliance with Ronnie that could burn them in the end. Casey was the smartest one of the group, suddenly realizing that Ronnie had something sinister up his sleeve. The drama began to build even more when Michele admitted to Chima that she voted for her to leave, even though the two of them are both teammates on the Brains clique (team). It led to a yelling match, with a lot of cussing coming from Chima (again). As people began to stress about the mystery vote, Ronnie began telling lies to people about not placing the vote, including to Jeff, who Ronnie claimed to still be in an alliance with. First Big Brother 11 Luxury Competition The first luxury competition for Big Brother 11 was played to decide who would get to watch a special screening of the new movie The Ugly Truth. The competition was a question and answer format, where the men were asked questions about the women, and the women were asked questions about the men. The man and woman with the most correct answers would be the winner of the luxury competition. The two winners of the first Big Brother 11 luxury competition were Casey (Offbeat clique) and Chima (Brains clique). For winning the luxury competition the two got to decide who would be the "have nots" for the week, and Chima complained until Casey agreed to put the Popular clique (Laura and Jordan) on the bad food, bad beds, and "have not" detail for the week. Week Two Big Brother Nomination Ceremony The Big Brother episode five nomination ceremony would have been shocking just a week ago, but with the alliances that Ronnie had been working to create, it was only surprising to the people who were placed on the block this week. As head of household, Ronnie put Jeff (from the Athletes) and Laura (from the Popular team) up for eviction. Now the only way that these two can save themselves is to win the power of veto competition, and take themselves off the block. The eviction ceremony for these nominations will take place on the Thursday, July 23rd episode. Next Episode of Big Brother 11 The next episode of Big Brother 11 will be airing on Tuesday, July 21st, 2009 at 9 P.M. That is where the veto competition and veto ceremony will take place, and will be followed on Thursday, July 23rd at 8 P.M. with the second eviction ceremony for Big Brother 11.
