Tyra teaches the girls how to pose for a moving camera. One girl shows her jealous side, while another passes out on set.
After the previous week’s elimination, the girls muse about Ebony’s request to be sent home. They agree that if she didn’t want to be there, they’d rather see Ambreal get the chance to win. As the competition winds down, the girls wonder about their own chances of becoming America’s Next Top Model.
Weight Issues Plague Sarah
Sarah wonders if she can make it as a model since she isn’t rail thin like the other girls. She also isn’t big enough to be a plus-sized model. Chantal, meanwhile, claims she has absolutely no doubts about herself, stating that God gave her a natural talent for modeling. “He gave me this body and this face to do this.”
Bianca’s Jealousy of Heather Increases
The talk turns to Heather as Bianca says Heather doesn’t have to work that hard to get ahead. Bianca admits Heather has a natural beauty but thinks everyone in the house “babies” Heather because of her Asperger’s affliction. Heather disagrees with Bianca, saying she thinks about poses and camera angles with each photo shoot, adding, “Modeling is making art with your body.”
Modeling for a Moving Camera
The contestants arrive at a dance studio, where Tyra surprises them with a lesson in modeling for a moving camera. Tyra calls upon her experience in doing videos for Lionel Richie and George Michael to show them how to practice being coy and flirty without going overboard.
The girls practice slide moves up and down a wall, as is seen in many music videos today. They also follow Tyra around the room as she shows them her runway walk. Later, the girls must act sexy as they crawl along the floor. Heather appears awkward, but Tyra says she has “Tim Burton-esque” (or a dark type of) sexuality. This brings out Bianca’s jealousy even more.
Enrique Iglesias Video Shoot
Prominent video director Jessy Terrero informs the girls they’ll be appearing in Enrique Iglesias’ “Tired of Being Sorry” video. Terrero is known for directing videos such as “Candy Shop,” by 50 Cent and “Do You Know,” also by Iglesias. Tensions arise when Terrero informs them one girl will be featured. They choose Lisa since she is very tall and has a “gothic look,” which will fit in well with the vampire-club theme of the video. Heather, not to be overlooked, is given a lengthy role in the video as well.
The Models Show Their Stuff
Heather and Lisa both do well in their extended parts. However, later Heather passes out on set, admitting that she hadn’t eaten since breakfast that day. She was given oxygen and told next time to eat in order for her body to function properly.
Chantal, still disappointed by not being chosen as the feature model for the video, looked bored and uninspiring. Ambreal got to practice the “wall slide” she learned earlier but had too many oversexed actions for Tyra’s liking. Jenah, usually the darling of the photo shoots, looked awkward and over-rehearsed when it came to posing for live camera work.
Sarah, Bianca, and Saliesha were shown together in a scene watching Iglesias enter the club. Bianca acted tough and blew kisses at him, making her time on camera campy rather than sexy. Saliesha made great eye contact with the camera and got Tyra’s approval for looking “devilish.”
Thin Models Only
Talk of weight has been prevalent lately, and perhaps as a result Sarah admitted she was uncomfortable in her netting and “barely there” outfit. While the judges admitted that Sarah did great at acting sexy in the video, they were still concerned with her size. She was eliminated.
