The models receive free Apple Bottom jeans and immediately try them on. Fatima makes a comment about Allison having a bigger posterior than herself and Allison retorts by calling Fatima anorexic.
Wal-Mart Challenge
The models are transported to Wal-Mart where CoverGirl representative, Brent Poer and CoverGirl makeup artist, Molly Stern are waiting. The girls are challenged to make up their face in five minutes, using CoverGirl products. The two judges are looking for a fresh, natural look and the models must incorporate three specific products into their look: Outlast All-Day Lip Colour, TruBlend Liquid Foundation and LashBlast Mascara.
Allison brags about how well her makeup turned out and smirks when Fatima receives criticism about her look. Her gloating doesn’t last long when she is told that she has too much makeup on. In the end, Claire has the best natural look and the judges tell her that her face will appear on Wal-Mart’s CoverGirl web page.
Model Makeovers
The models arrive at Stephen Knoll’s professional salon and are excited when Tyra informs them that they’re all getting makeovers. However, she won’t reveal what new look she has in store for them.
Anya’s hair changes from light brown and wavy, to blonde and straight. Marvita receives a long horse mane hair weave, but keeps her short mohawk on top. Lauren feels more like a girl after she is given a long blonde weave with red highlights. Aimee gets a lighter hair color, bangs and layers.
Whitney trades in her short, dark hair for long, platinum blonde tresses, while the stylists trim Katarzyna’s hair and color it dark. Since Claire already had one side of her head shaved, Tyra decided she should have the other side match. Claire’s hair is turned blond and left short on top.
Fatima’s shoulder-length, strawberry blonde hair is transformed into a long, straight chestnut-color weave and Allison receives a lighter shade, as well as layers. Dominique’s long locks are cut short and colored darker, while Stacy-Ann also receives a short cut. Amis is given a long blonde and brown weave.
Photoshoot on the Hudson
A yacht in the Hudson River, with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background, is the location of the photoshoot. The girls are surprised when Elle Macpherson greets them and wants them to model her line of intimate apparel. Each of the models receive one-on-one attention from Elle, as well as her advice during the photoshoot.
Jay Manuel feels that Lauren’s poses are awkward and that Allison’s poses look too practiced. He tells Dominique that her look is too commercial, but she doesn’t agree. Jay is impressed by Fatima, Claire and Marvita, while he feels that Katarzyna looks too much like a sex kitten. Whitney has issues with her constrictive outfit, but pulls off a good picture.
Elimination
The judges make an unanimous decision that Marvita, Claire and Lauren produced great pictures, that Fatima only models from the waist up and that Katarzyna’s picture is very tacky. They aren’t impressed at all by Dominique’s photo and feel that she looks like a soccer mom and might not be able to live up to the Top Model standards.
In the end, Allison’s conceited and cocky nature lands her in the bottom two with Dominique. When Dominique is chosen to stay in the running, Allison shows a more humble side by crying and hugging the other girls.
