The final two girls completed their Seventeen magazine cover shots, walked in a runway fashion show and learned the final results

On the May 13, 2009 episode of America’s Next Top Model, America’s Next Top Model Is…, the three finalists shot their Covergirl commercial, but not all of the models made it to the Rosa Cha fashion show.

Think Cover Girl

The three finalists learned they would be doing a photo shoot and a commercial for Covergirl’s new lipstick.

Aminat had a hard time working her eyes during the commercial, but Jay said she was great when it came to delivering lines and giving energy.

Allison had some trouble remembering her lines. Jay said that he wasn’t sure she was ready to be a Covergirl representative, but the photographer loved her look.

Teyona also stumbled over her words, and she broke in to tears on set because of it. After the shoot Teyona felt awful about her commercial, and she felt she had really let herself down.

Down to Two

One of the models had to be eliminated before the final photo shoot and runway show. Amir Slama, a designer with Rosa Cha, helped decide who went home.

The judges were shocked by how much Teyona’s nerves got to her, but Tyra said her photo was the definition of smiling with your eyes.

The judges weren’t very impressed with Allison’s commercial, but Paulina thought her voice was expressive. Amir said Allison’s photo was beautiful and sexy.

Aminat had the best comments. They loved her emotion and how she talked to the camera. They didn’t love her photo though. Tyra felt she didn’t know how to control the muscles in her face.

The decision came down to Aminat or Teyona, and Aminat was eliminated.

Final Runway Walk

The models’ final challenge was walking in the Rosa Cha fashion show.

Teyona felt she did great on her first walk. Allison walked a little fast, but she was a huge improvement. Tyra commented during the walk that Allison looked awesome.

Allison felt more confident the second time around because she got very in to the Samba moves she was supposed to be performing.

The final walk was very interesting. It wasn’t actually a walk but a crawl. All of the models were covered in paint and were rolling around with each other on the floor. Allison and Teyona loved it, and Teyona didn’t even flinch when she accidentally pulled her weave out.

The Final Critique

The judges spoke to Allison first. They were all shocked and amazed by Allison’s walk. Tyra was honest, saying she thought Allison was going to bomb, but she blew it out of the water.

The judges thought Teyona looked robotic at times during her walk.

Lastly, the judges went through each of the models’ photos to one more time explain what they did and did not like.

In private, Paulina, Miss J, Tyra and Nigel discussed who deserved the title. All of the judges thought Teyona wasn’t as strong on the catwalk. They thought she really came out of her shell during the paint part, but Miss J thought she wanted it more. Nigel said Teyona deserved to be on the show because she is consistently great. They believed Allison was most improved and had great international appeal.

You Are America’s Next Top Model

Teyona was named the winner of America’s Next Top Model and received a contract with Elite Model Management, a cover and six-page spread in Seventeen magazine and a $100,000 contract with Covergirl.

After the announcement Tyra and Teyona participated in a photo shoot together. Teyona was so excited to have won, and she could barely believe that she was the winner.
