Take Me to the Photo Shoot - ANTM’s Overseas Destination is Revealed

On last week’s episode of the CW’s hit reality series, America’s Next Top Model, the acting challenge left many of the models worried about their performance. Allison is frustrated with translating her unique looks into photographs that give different faces. Aminat knows that she must step up her game after her performance in their first Cover Girl commercial.
America’s Next Top Creative Directors
“A top model knows how to be direct,” is the next Tyra Mail that comes to the house. Knowing that there are seven models in the ANTM apartment, the contestants are aware that there is only one elimination left before heading abroad. Celia and London discuss London’s experience as a street preacher before heading out to this week’s challenge. The girls meet with Jay Manuel, the creative director for all of the America’s Next Top Model photo shoots to find out their assignment.
For the challenge, each girl will be the creative director for the photo shoot of another model. Ann Shoket, the editor-in-chief of Seventeen, will help judge them. The models will have to style, direct, and edit the photographs from their shoot. Fifteen frames will be shot of each girl. Allison surprised Jay Manuel with her vocal opinions and direction. Teyona won the challenge because of her strong styling of Celia. She chose Celia and Aminat will join her on the reward -- an editorial photo shoot about color for Seventeen.
Photo Shoot with Singing Sensation Ciara
Like true top models, for this week’s photo shoot the hair and makeup teams come to the ANTM Upper East Side apartment in the morning. Mr. Jay was overseeing styling when singer-songwriter Ciara rings the doorbell. She will be joining the girls in today’s photo shoot. The models will act like an obsessed fan, tangled up in the cords trying to get to Ciara. Mike Ruiz will be photographing the girls and has been on past cycles of Top Model.
Wardrobe is primarily bikinis and cables, which concerns London. She has gained a noticeable amount of weight since the show began. Mr. Jay notices the change and pulls London aside after her shoot to ask. Fo found that she wasn’t nervous during her shoot and brought fierceness with Ciara. During Allison’s shoot, she became frustrated with Mr. Jay and Mike. Her anger helped her to find a different face.
Revealing of the Overseas Destination at Judge’s Panel
The models enter the judging room and face Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker, J. Alexander, Paulina Porizkova, and Mike Ruiz. Before they begin the evaluations, a young male model enters the room wearing hardly anything. He speaks in Portuguese and tells Tyra he wants them to visit his country. In a blaze of confetti, they reveal that the final six models will be heading to Brazil for their overseas location.
During deliberation, the judges express that they want more from many of the models. Teyona’s fearless performance earns her the first photograph of the evening. She is quickly joined by Fo, Natalie, Celia, and Allison. London and Aminat fell to the bottom. London’s permanently smiling eyes impress Tyra, but her weight gain and mediocre performances do not. Aminat has the face of a model, but has yet to put it into a photograph. Aminat’s photograph is revealed and London heads home, just missing the trip to Brazil.
