Acting Like A Model - Singer and Actor Clay Aiken Visits ANTM

After judge’s panel on last week’s episode of the hit reality show America’s Next Top Model, Allison worries about only being able to give one look. The girls sit down to a dinner together. However, the drama that has happened in previous weeks continues as Natalie cracks a joke about cleaning. Aminat takes offense and believes that Natalie thinks she is better than the rest of the girls.
Acting Teach With Paulina Porizkova and Clay Aiken
The first Tyra Mail states “Tomorrow you will be molded into a fine piece of Clay.” They arrive at Harlem Stage Theater and are greeted by judge and former supermodel Paulina Porizkova. Paulina tells them that every day in modeling is an audition, and they need to borrow from stage acting. They are paired up and each girl has to state a sentence in a specific way. After watching a few disappointing girls, Paulina comments that some of them might just be beauty models. She tries to get Tahlia to open up and show some emotion, unsuccessfully.
Every teach has a challenge and the acting lessons are no different. They are each given a script that they must act out. It involves a has-been model who is going in for a fitting. Because the script requires a second person, Paulina introduces Clay Aiken to play the fashion designer. Clay is best known from his success on American Idol, and currently performs on Broadway. London wins the challenge and receives $5,000 worth of merchandise from Joe’s Jeans. Unfortunately, she feels awkward because she has gained some weight since the competitions started. She gives away jeans to many of the other girls.
Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, Cover Girl Commercial
The models arrive on set and discover Cycle 11 winner, McKee, shooting a Cover Girl commercial with artistic director Jay Manuel. Today’s challenge will be a commercial for Cover Girl’s new TruBlend Microminerals foundation. They are given scripts and will work in two groups of four models, rotating through the different roles. They also have a teleprompter available on set in case they need it. Peter Chelkowski is the director for the day.
Cover Girl representative Elyssa Starkman is on set to watch the girls, since one of the prizes for winning America’s Next Top Model is a Cover Girl contract. The first group (Celia, Teyona, Allison, and Aminat) executes their takes fairly well. However, the girls in the second group struggle to get their lines delivered.
Judge’s Panel and Elimination
Clay Aiken joins regular judges Tyra Banks, Nigel Barker, J. Alexander, and Paulina Porizkova to judge the commercials. Each girl is shown her best take, and only Celia really did well. The judges note that Allison and Teyonna are both wearing the same things they have worn before. Tyra asks them to switch clothes during the deliberation. This week, Tahlia and Allison fall to the bottom of the pack. Allison once again is criticized for being one note, while Tahlia does not seem to love the camera the way the camera loves her. Allison’s image is revealed and Tahlia is sent home.
