Amazing Race 14 Episode 6 RecapFull Episode Summary of The Amazing Race Season 14 in India
After a non-elimination leg, seven teams continue traveling from Russia to India in the sixth leg of the race. One team encounters a speed bump along the way.
In last week's episode, teams raced partially nude through the snow and transported brides to a Russian church as they continued racing through Siberia. Margie & Luke pulled ahead of the pack, after Luke sprinted in his underwear to the finish line, for a first place finish. Christie & Jodi, who had trouble navigating the streets of Russia, took their bride to the wrong church during the detour and fell behind. Fortunately for the flight attendants, Phil informed them it was a non-elimination leg and their last place finish means they will have to complete a extra task, a "speed-bump," during the next leg of the race if they hope to avoid elimination. All seven teams continue racing around the world for a one-million dollar prize as they travel from Russia to India. Which team will be eliminated this week? Amazing Race Teams Fly from Novosibirsk, Russia, to Jaipur, IndiaDeparting from Nobosibirsk, teams fly 2000 miles through Moscow to the "pink city" of India. All teams board the same 7am flight through Moscow before connecting in New Dehli and connecting on a 5:40am flight to Jaipur, India. Once in Jaipur, teams must travel by taxi to Duhla Village and search the grounds for the sacred Peepli Ka Pedh tree, where they'll find their next clue. Once on the ground, teams have difficulty finding a taxi cab. Tammy & Victor depart first, followed by flight attendants Jodie & Christie and Mark & Michael. Mel & Mike run in difficulty as their cab driver locks their bags in the trunk while he leaves to go get directions, while Jodie & Christie's cab driver stops en route to re-fuel the vehicle, costing them their early lead. En route, racers tear up at the extreme povery and living conditions experiences by those in the Indian slums. Racers Encounter Roadblock at Amber Fort Where They Feed CamelsTammy & Victor arrive at Peepli Ka Pedh tree first and discover two red phones instructing them to call one of four phone numbers for their next clue. In order to understand what is being said on the other line, they enlist the help of their taxi driver to interpret. As the other six teams arrive at the sacred tree, they lose valuable time searching for the clue, before noticing the bright red telephones. The flight attendants are last to arrive, passing other teams already headed to the Gaura Parvati Parking at Amber Fort. Once at the fort, racers encounter a roadblock where one team member must use traditional tools to load and carry enough food and water to care for camels in their chosen herd. Arriving first, Victor grabs a bucket inteded for hauling water, before seeing a pile of baskets and rakes meant to be used for feed. Kisha and Jen arrive next, followed by Mark & Michael and Mel & Mike. Mel strains under the weight of the water and he carries it back and forth in the hot sun, prompting his son to wish he had done the challenge instead. While Kisha stuffs camel feed down her shirt, Mel notices the baskets and switches tools, making up time and moving them into second place. Jaime, Margie and Jodi also complete the road block for their teams. Teams Travel to Rajasthani Puppet Store While Flight Attendants Decorate ElephantsDeparting from the roadblock, teams travel to the Johri Bazaar were they find a puppet store and the site of their detour. Teams must choose between "Movers" and "Shakers." In "Shakers" racers will don traditional costumes and make-up and shake to the beat of a local band for tips until they earn 100 rupees. In "Movers", teams must travel to the Sanganeri Gate, choose a cycle rickshaw loaded with barrels and then transport those to the Zorawar Singh Gate, at which point they must search through the straw filled containers for a silver elephant. Tammy & Victor select "Shakers" and quickly earn their 100 rupees before the other teams arrive. Mike & Mel, Cara & Jaime, Margie & Luke and Kisha & Jen also choose to put on the costumes and dance in the streets of India. After completing the task, Cara & Jaime cannot locate their taxi, believing he has left with their bags, and search for 20 minutes. As Margie & Luke finish and ask them what's the matter, they locate their taxi driver walking towards them in the crowds. Stuntmen brothers Mark & Michael decide to do "Movers" thinking they can physically power through the most difficult tasks. Jodie & Christie must first complete a "speed bump," as task only they must compete to make up for their last place finish in a non-elimination leg, before continuing on. While the flight attendants decorate an elephant with paint, Mark & Michael are involved in a frustrating search for a small silver elephant among piles of straw. Completing the speed bump, Jodie & Christie head to the detour and quickly make their 100 rupees. Sixth Pit Stop is at Jaigarh Fort, a 15th Century Fortress in Jaipur, IndiaAfter completing the detour, teams travel by taxi to the Jaigarh Fort, a 15th century fortress. Tammy & Victor arrive with a strong first place finish, and each receive an ocean kayak. Kisha & Jen arrive in third, followed by Margie & Luke in fourth and Cara & Jaime in fifth. Racing for last place, both Mark & Michael and Jodie & Christie hurriedly make their way to the pit-stop. In the end, stuntment Mark & Michael reach the mat in sixth just as Jodie & Christie are seen running up the fort's step.
